Back to work for me Monday I'm afraid :(

This is tempting, but I think I'd find i don't think i could hack it mentally tbh. I can only do a couple of days back to back on the turbo as I find it mind-cripplingly boring no matter what entertainment I have. Not to forget it would be pretty brutal on the legs too of course!
Not ruling it out entirely though, I like the idea...

Keep trying to do this. But just dont seem to have the free time back to back. Had planned to do it NeXT year for sure.....
......But I'll be training in Gran Canaria instead.
Gutted.

I don't get it... Why forsake hours of intense boredom and pain in front of a laptop for outdoor riding in the warmth on exciting new roads?
Strange choice.

I managed to get some sort of perverse enjoyment out of completing the '8 days of California' challenge earlier in the year, so may have to give this one a go too. My head's not in the right place right now, but it's still a whole month away.
My outdoor riding has been pretty much non-existent for much of this year, so I could do with some sort of physical challenge for the mildly agoraphobic :-/

I didnt sign up, as I knew I didnt have the time to commit. But I did a fair few days of the tour last year. Some days require you do 2 vids. Now I may be slow/fat/old but I like to think I'm a tough old bastard. Yet doing back to back sufferfest vids all but broke me.
If you have the time. The tour will make you faster just in time for season start. But if Your FTP is set honestly. It'll drain you.

Sounds like an easy version of Clarence King, which is brutal. Only ever finished it by doing the whole thing at 95% intensity.
Back at it this morning. Came here for inspiration but you all seem to dread it as much as I do.

Does the trainerroad app do anything without a subscription to their service?
-

Just signed up this morning to TrainerRoad and ordered an ant+ stick, so far so good.

-
• #437

The new model cadence sensor that mounts on the crank arm are a bit neater now no magnet is needed.
There is a new speed sensor which I've not used because #fixed4lyf
-
• #440
But that is just cadence and not speed monitor, so wouldn't be any good for turbo trainer / rollers.
-
• #441
Eh? It works fine on a stationary trainer.
If you want speed... that would be where the speed sensor I mention comes in handy!
-
• #442
yeah thats the garmin speed/cadence sensor at £60
cheers for the suggestion freezing77, sadly not very good reviews by the sounds.
-
• #443
Yes. It's two things. Buy them together or not together.
You could just use the speed and forget about cadence, halving the price.
-
• #444
Yeah I know, but Id like to have cadence ideally, just didnt realise it would be so bloody expensive.
-
• #445
What's wrong with the older version?
-
• #446
It's no cheaper?
-
• #448
Those decathlon ones are fine. I have one and other than not looking quite as neat it works just as well as my garmin one.
-
• #449
Yes. That £60 is for both; Speed and Cadence sensor.
Two things.

cheers @BareNecessities
@miro_o the £38 one is both as well, although the description doesnt mention it.
Sorry I missed your post, will be in Winchester the day after tomorrow, would be up for a jaunt around the New Forest for sure, if convenient.
