Interesting. Those three links contain no evidence that there's a dodgy batch either of course...

The batch stuff is interesting because it would explain why we are not seeing any issues here - My understanding is that all the AZ vaccine produced in the UK is currently being used in the UK, and that we are not importing AZ vaccine from the EU production sites that had all those issue ramping up production.
A dodgy batch will still be terrible for general vaccine safety reputation - all these "issues" seem to be the AZ one rather than any of the others.

Not from Europe but we are importing the AZ vaccine from India:-

"
The number of shots given is expected to top 4 million this week, nearly double what has been achieved per week recently, NHS sources say.
...
The increase has been made possible by a large shipment of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine from the Serum Institute in India, which has arrived and passed safety checks.

And the Executive Director of the EMA says that the evidence doesn't suggest that there's a dodgy batch either as the reported cases of thrombosis aren't limited to a single batch.

I am not claiming there is, more replying to your disbelief that I heard it reported

German press as far as I can tell is furious with the government for their failure to communicate clearly, first dismissing the Danish concerns last week then suspending Astra Zeneca this week. Obviously trust in vaccinations is further diminishing as a result

With my tin foil hat on, the numbers don't give the full picture till you have all the variables. Did the people that had the issues, was the condition undiagnosed before having the jab or a high predisposition pre jab? Or were they doing something that would cause the issue.
So is there a direct causal link or just a random link as people get ill.
EDIT: Seeing that both az and pf have issues maybe it is a rare Covid complication. Covid has affected a number of diabetic people have had increased complications and there have been a few people that have become diabetic since contracting covid. Is that related to covid or something that was going to happen anyway.

Why is this a particular anti britan/brexit thing?
The French seem to be more concerned about a Britany variant atm, and raising numbers of people getting ill.

Erm. Don't think I was saying it was.
Although Macron is getting increasingly populist and they generally look for easy targets. -

Don’t worry about the anti-vaxxers, guys, Prince Charles is here to put them right:
https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2021/mar/17/prince-charles-vaccine-covid-anti-vaxxers?CMP=Share_iOSApp_OtherHe’s telling them to put aside this nonsense and put their faith in science. Also woo.

Put your faith in science. Also, I was ordained by a sky deity to rule over you peasants.

fortunately for science, it doesn't have much use for faith, that's kinda the point.
and that was presumably the point of the OP.
i should do some work.

I thought the divine right of kings pretty much fell apart in the late 1600s in England.
Has Charlie been pulling the God card again or something?

Sure - it's not Monty Python levels of divination but they're the head of the church and the national anthem does a good job of linking their survival to divine intervention.
I reckon a lot of CoE people in the UK would link the existence of the Monarchy to god.

What a depressing thought

Anybody else find these "vaccine bunnies" a little bit disturbing?!

Very Silent Hill.

Looks like it's fresh brains they're after.

Yes! First thing I thought of as well.

Oh look Cummings dumping on public health England and Matt Hancock.
He was meeting Astra Zeneca reps in Durham wasn't he?
The UK vaccination program speed of acquiring vaccines is excellent, but to read this was done in a not very accountable manner makes me think there are system failures.
Also hard to cheer for Cummings. It's like a diss fight between my least favourite people 🙄
Edit with PHE unfairly being stuck in here after all the budget cuts, reorganizations...

Hello,
I was a question, I not doubting that it is a possibility. The frexit lot have gone very quiet.
It must be a political decision if it is the countries' leaders/ministers (politicians) that have made the decision, and not the medical bodies (WHO, EMA etc), right? It's just that it seems such an alien notion to make such a political decision. Whether it's anti-Britain or not, it feels like there must have been an element of "well, France are doing X" or "we don't want our voting citizens to think we are putting them in harm's way".
I am not a expert.
I wonder if it could be modeled to show how many lives were lost by pausing the vaccine roll out when it is confirmed there was no risk. Not that that will help anyone, but if I were in opposition, it's what I would be doing.
