I like my ankles too much for that.

I'm trying to find some tubeless tyres 30-35mm which would be OK for light off road/'gravel' for the Croix de Fer I will be having built up on Wednesday. Wanted Compass Bon Jon's but the UK distributor (Velo Vitality in Brighton, the only place that sells them AFAIK) only has one. Thought OK, I'll go for Schwalbe s-one's - distributor has no stock till July. Hmmm.
Any alternative suggestions please, or does anyone know somewhere that has either in stock?

Just get the Compass for the front and backorder. Meanwhile any Schwalbe Marathon or whatever should do for the rear?

What about the g-one for gravel.

These have been ok - great off road if not the fastest rolling tyre i've ever used:

and £27!

Thanks all. Turned out Velo Vitality's website said they only had one but actually they had a pair. As they're the only stockist that was the last pair in the UK, so it's always worth calling.
FWIW @Ramsaye I looked at the g-ones but they are very heavy, seem more like a tyre you'd only use for gravel whereas what I'm after is mostly tarmac with light off road/gravel etc. chucked in. And not too heavy. Moot point anyway as you don't really seem to be able to get hold of them either, Schwalbe seem to be doing their usual trick of launching new tyres then selling out of the tiny volume they've produced almost immediately.
If anyone does want to follow @dancing james and get the Schwalbe S-one's my LBS use Raleigh as their distributor for Schwalbe and were told July, ISON are showing 30/6 so you will have to wait a bit as everyone else has sold out. Do NOT do what I nearly did and accidentally get your LBS to order the hand made tub version at £79 a pop!
I will report back on the Bon Jovis. As it's my first venture into tubeless I am slightly relieved that my LBS are building the bike up so will have the task of fitting them!

I'm all for function over aesthetics in general when it comes to bike parts but those aren't half fugly.

Makes sense.
The Schwalbe got snapped up as oem by quite a few manufacturers so have next to no retail stock. Give us a long term review of your John Bon Jovis as the initial thoughts review by cxm was a bit meh. -

Yes I did read that - ta for sending. That mostly seemed to be a moan about how hard they were to fit, but other people who've used them don't seem to have had any issues and like them as tyres and @andy_k didn't have any problems getting them on:

The beer is important...

I tend to buy my Schwalbe tyres from Germanland, always much cheaper that way.

So what's the defintive list of tubeless road tyres - I know nothing of this world...
-
• #194
Think the best on the road is the Schwalbe One Pro. Well I hope it is, since that's what I've got. I definitely think it's a better tyre than a Conti GP4000ii clincher.

I got a successful puncture, pin prick sized, that the gunk wouldn't plug. The tire was 2 rides old.
-
• #196
that's a bugger
hope it wont stop you getting here today
i have found if the hole is small i am better off riding along to spin the gunk into the hole, or to stop with the hole at the bottom of the wheel so there is a puddle of goo on top of the hole
which make of goo are you using?

All Schwalbe. I've got other bikes to ride, don't worry
-
• #198
afaik the schwalbe is just stans in a different bottle. you could try adding some glitter as the large particles are more likely to block the hole
-
• #199
S-One's or One-Pro?

dov's well pro, so that's my guess
When you say 'testing' do you mean enourmous jump-to-flat?
