• Yeah, pro

  • I went to put my rear wheel back on my bike to ride to work and it had lost all pressure. The fluid had mostly dried up so I put some new in but still couldn't get it to seal so have had to put an inner tube in. I think my rims are just too wide for the tubeless conversion to work properly.

  • My Pro One sealed itself over night and is now back to being badass

  • My S-one on the rear had lost a lot of air. Pumped it up and I could hear air escaping, found the hole and rotated it to be next to the ground. It was immediately sealed and has held pressure since then.

Tubeless is fucking awesome. Though I would not risk doing a ghetto tubeless conversion for road pressures.

    I would and I do

  • You mad bruv

  • My S-One tread is disappearing at an incredible rate. Are you having this too?

  • Not noticed this but not been on very long

  • If the clincher bead holds with a 120 psi inner tube it will hold with 120psi air

  • I thought there was more to it than that, but hey, if it works for you.

  • Compressor pump joy has arrived. No more manic pumping to get a bead to seat.

    Hopefully.

  • I have a similar pump but if there is too much gap between bead and rim tape the pump can't overcome it.

In those cases moar rim tape is required.

  • Long shot - is anyone hoarding a new set of schwalbe S-Ones they wouldn't mind selling me? They're out of stock on ison and can't see anywhere with stock of them. I punctured my front such that I had to use one of the panaracer tubeless puncture repair (which worked magically) on a long training ride, it's holding up fine and I would carry on riding it if it wasn't for the fact I am racing 2400km around Ireland starting next thurs so want some fresh rubber.

My other option is a set of 32c gravel Kings but I'm hesitant. Have been happy with S-ones and would prefer not to change my set up last minute.

  • bike-discount.de usually have them

  • Gah. Any obvious reason why a tyre which was previously holding air fine, and when first installed popped straight onto the hook, now will not go seat at all :/

  • Have you cleaned all the old gunk off the bead and used soapy water to help the seating process. If yes then that's my knowledge exhausted.

  • you cleaned all the old gunk off the bead

Oh hrm. Really? I'd thought (and hoped I guess) that it might help seal / not be neccesary. But makes sense I guess. Ta

Edit: Pop pop pop. Done. Stupid gunk

  • Yay!

I have a tubeless tyre I can't get off the bead. FML.

  • I was surprised to get it done without you or tester pointing out that the correct answer is UST

  • I don't have any UST rims now.

    I am unapproved.

Now who has thumbs made of adamantium?

  • Wolverine.

  • I did and thought exactly the same (about the gunk) with mine when I was playing with my new pump.

  • Got a sidewall split in my front Pro One yesterday about 5km from home. Wouldn't seal at all. I've just ordered some tyre anchovies in the hope that I'll be able to plug the bigger holes in the future.

  • I got the wee panaracer kit and it's pretty nice since you cut the anchovies to size.

  • Tubeless, tan wall, around 35c and durable enough to commute? Does this exist?
