Yeah, seems like a basic mistake but perhaps he's got a new unit or perhaps he'd turned it off when not racing as it was annoying. Any chance he's got the wrong route? I know in some editions there were detours around fires or something?

Yeah, he's riding fucking strong! Josh Kato also ahead of record pace... But, lots of snow on the descent from Togwotee, and it seems Colorado has just had a dumping of snow. Doubtful record can be broken if lots of passes involve hours of post-holing through snow.

@hippy Singlespeed isn't a bad idea for this I think. I broke my rear mech on first day in peanut butter mud that was full on slate splinters. Rode 400 miles with 4 gears...
