So I need to buy a fatbike to train on as well. I'm down with that. Less so the rocks thing.

Sofiane ain't gonna blow. #prediction.

We'll have to wait and see, but it was fine last time.
Hike a bike is what messes with it, and there's little on TD.

Sofiane has slowed a lot, it must be raining and that section through Carbon County in southern WY would be horrendous peanut butter mud. Mike's record has overtaken him

Really depends on funds, most likely 2021

That's nothing, still looks quite runny. It gets so gloopy the wheels won't turn.

This is why I don't MTB.. I can't stand to see bikes suffer like this. :)

You sit to see your bikes suffer

It's snowing at brush mountain lodge (first stop in northern Colorado) and the forecast is heavy snow right through the Colorado range, some passes are still closed. Things are going to slow down a lot I think.
Snow forecast from 9000', and many of the passes are over 10,000', some nearly 12,000'. That's gonna be a lot of trudging through snow.

Good. Mtb races should be hard.

+1
Add the fact that Colorado is where I saw the most wildlife, lots of bears, coyote packs and a mountain lion! They will be extra hungry due to a cold spring.

Looks like Sofi is back at Brush Mountain, they were having snow last night, so maybe the pass over to Clark was impassable! Gonna be interesting to see what happens.
Some northbound tourers have skipped Colorado entirely due to the levels of snow!

This just became a great race.
Wish I was there.

Kato will reach the point that Sofiane turned round in the next half hour or so. Interested to see what he does, I wonder if they saw each other or spoke when they passed.

Someone said over on the TD thread on bikepacking.net that there was 20 inches of fresh snow at Steamboat Springs overnight. Fun.

Do it in 2021? We can ride together for 1 minute at the start before you disappear over the horizon.

• #869
So you're saying take snacks?
-
• #870
Yeah, and bear spray

Sofiane "it's all right. I got lost at the top of the col in the middle of the night. Can't find the way in the snow. I had to turn around because the temperature fell under the-5 degrees and that I'm not equipped to face these temperatures"

Just a bit of snow
