  • I'm on a weight loss drive before I go to Ventoux in 3 weeks. Lost 3kg in a month, but
couple more would be good, would get me down to 76kg.
    Still fatter than Tom though.

  • is everyone of your lot going to ventoux?!
There are two distinct approaches to increasing your power to weight, and I took the easy one.

  • doping?

  • I felt fairly fit after riding to Paris and most of the way back. I managed to knacker my knee though. What's a good form of exercise that encourages weight loss but won't cause my knee to shatter?

  • Some might say swimming. But I have to say when my knee was playing up. The resistance of the water irritated it further. Could be Worth a try though.

Not stopping at Chalet Reynard then?

  • Stopping is cheating. Everyone knows that.

  • Refuelling would have hit a better note I agree.

  • Currently on 65.5kg and yet I still have a small but visible pot belly. Very puzzled by that. Will lose another couple of pounds and then return to serious strength training. see if it changes.

I left for Provence weighing ~76.5 and came back (post Ventoux) at 78.5.

    Magnets, I expect.

  • 1 week till my race season starts and I'm still 1.5kg off target weight, have got a handle in things in the last week, hopefully the extra fear factor will help keep me focused and away from beer!

I gained about 2kg after Belgium last weekend.

Steak and beer are probably more likely culprits in this case, though.

  • Dammit, what's your 'summer'/target weight at the moment?

  • My parents have been over to visit. So no training, and loads of junk Food.

My season kicks off in 2 weeks. I really need to drop weight.

May have to quit beer for a month. :(

I was hoping for 75kg, but my legs seem to be getting bigger.

  • Back up to 95kg :( a few weeks of indulging has not done me any favours.

  • Holiday is in 4 weeks so determined to try and lost some of the off/middle aged spread.

Signed up for MyFitnessPal to try and get to understand these things called "calories" but the biggie is I've quite beer and bread for the next 4 weeks

It is a shame as I love both beer and bread. Its been 48 hours so far and not doing too badly.

Abstaining from food, or at least booze.

    Regular walking.

  • Yeah I read something different there

    No, just Nick and I.

    swimming

  • Swim fast though, you don't see many skinny endurance swimmers...

  • I hate exam season. I can never keep good weight control.
I have no idea what I am but I've managed One turbo session this week. And haven't been for a run in a week. I last actually rode my bike on Thursday.

  • Visiting a mate who is teaching english in Turkey, mid July. Gives me 2 months to get as fit as possible. Doable I think but definitely need to watch the weekend binge drinkathon..was so hungover last sunday ended up missing the gym and having a nandos and an XXL papa johns. I've lived in my flat for 2 years and it was our first pizza delivery. Quite enjoyed it actually.

Now playing 5s twice a week, will be on the bike more as it's dry(er), so final piece is just to be more disciplined in terms of diet/fuelling.

  • I went for a sneaky post exam ride. It felt so good.

  • And I thought you were becoming a doctor and not a postie.
