Exercise increases your Basal Metabolic Rate for at least an hour post exercise but you're talking tiny amounts of calories vs what you would burn during exercise.
10% higher BMR after exercise vs 500-1000% higher during.

so eat the cake whilst running/cycling instead?

This thread now has me addicted to chocolate milk.
I took a diversion on the way home to get some more today.
Thankfully I think I can justify the calories!
Love chocolate Milk, especially after the gym. 50g of sugar in a bottle though. Dafuq.
Cut sugar out except for occasional forays into my daily flat white or my porridge..or like a piece of cake, or maybe a wee bit of chocolate. But you know what I mean. Fucking 50g?

Spot on. I quit the protein shakes, as I was using them for muscle gain. I am thinking of reinstating them as a binge replacement.
If I cut the protein then muscle mass goes down and fat goes up, have a shake at breakfast and one at night as well on exercise days.

I am now only a week away from losing a stone since my birthday. All the calorie counting has paid off, hooray.
I reckon I could eat (or drink) it back a little faster though, so might give that a go for feb into march.

I've (finally!) started riding my bike again, and the waist of my 32" City Riding trousers is now very comfortable.
However, I am close to being unable to get my legs in them.

Two days ago, I was a fraction over 71kg with 70 kg in my sights. Now I am visiting my folks and at the mercy of their over-rich habits. Hmmph.

Lost 6lbs this year. Have reduced snacks and eating a bigger lunch each day, plus riding an extra 30-40 miles a week.
So now down to 95kg. Would like to lose a little more and get below 90kg.

I like myfitnesspal's helpful reminder when you finish a day..
"If every day were like today, in 5 weeks you've weigh 120kg.."

True, today I'm under. Yay.
"In five weeks you would've weighed 80kg but because you insist on going to every Meet The Brewer night in London and drinking EVERYTHING they produce you won't ever actually meet this target, fatty"

I am no longer clinically obese.
Which is great.
I am now eating mackrel on toast, instead of 9 portion chocolate chip brioches, as recovery supper. Which frankly isnt so great.

I am now 29.8 (167cm, 82.9Kg)This would be loads easier if I was 169cm, as I seem to remember being.

dropped to sub 80kg today. admittedly post ride, so doesn't count, but it's the first time I've had a reading that starts with a 7 in a long time.
That's a new one. Does MyFitnessPal have their calories listed?
