  • Tick tock

  • Ditched carbohydrates 6 months ago.
as of this morning 25kg gone.
Have an occasional carb up every other week or after 10 laps of Regents park.
Wine as a treat and sugar free jelly with cream for quick sweet fix.

  • Full week, been a sort-of interesting exercise:

    are you weighing your turds?

  • I had a Mars icecream for dinner, and to feel less bad about it I made my housemates have one too. This is ok, right?

Flake ice cream tub is tonight's option.

    When's the time challenge happening?

  • are you weighing your turds?

Then working out the calorific content?

  • I've lost quite a bit of weight. Probably some of that muscle bulk. Which I'll pay for during my next rugby match. Dunno how much. stopped eating 1000+ calorie snacks of an evening. Simples.

    Acid test.

Usually an XL in tops. About to try on a Rapha jersey in Large. Fingers crossed.

  • I'm down 3kg since Cornwall.

  • That'll be a no then.

  • Now to decide whether to keep investing in L summer gear, and keep eating cardboard. Or live lumpy and happy.

Did kinda want to be lighter on the bike.....

That's a massive change. Good work. Over six months as well is a nicely steady 1kg / week. When you say you have ditched carbs, how extreme have you been?

  • 14stone fatman reporting in.

I did a whoops and broke my kneecap and got fat during recovery. I am now lifting weights to rehab the leg and getting fatter all the while. I'm going to be warm this winter.

  • First month very strict. No Fruit and Any starchy veg.
In that time pretty much I only ate tuna, chicken, beef, eggs, bacon, spinach, broccoli avocado and so on.
After that I'm bit more relaxed and stopped being worried about carb content of some veg. Every now and then will have a handful of berries as a treat. Came up with some mad snacks to replace sweets.
If you train a lot a weekly carb up would be advised. that would be called CKD.
Idea is that your last workout of the week (let's say Friday) you'd push as hard as you can which will deplete your muscle from glycogen. that evening (still controlling a calorie intake) you drop your fat intake but boost carbs. Let it be anything you want but I would recommend keeping it "smart" with nice carbs instead of junk food.
I've made a mistake on my 6th week of eating proper junk and just made me feel sick.
I actually at this point managed to dial my body into Ketosis so well that I don't count calories so much but just listen to my own body.
Remember to read up properly before going carb free. Your energy source is FAT. Protein needs to be ideally on a level to sustain your muscle. You should never over eat protein.

Very good read about CKD is here

Fist month was quite bad. but after all it all pays off. Highly recommended.
Btw I'm not stopping this. It kind of became the new and right way to eat for me. My energy levels are high, food is very satisfying (all that cheese and bacon...), my legs are ripped like never before and now I'm going to focus on building some muscle on upper body.

  • Slowly but surely:

  • Can't believe dammit weighs only 6 kilos more than me cries into icecream

  • That'll be a no then.

    Looks alright to me.

  • Got any more pics?...

  • I've had a bit of a fail month.
Much of it is laziness as it is the shift pattern and tiredness.
I will recover this next month.

  • Slowly but surely:

How much of that weight is the camera and its mount?

  • I have nowhere else to do this, I front squatted 100kg today after breaking my kneecap on 30th july. It made me feel very happy.

There's hope for my legs yet.

  • Looks alright to me.

Its proper tight. I'll get there.

    Got any more pics?...

Theres loads on my premium site......

  • Since injuring my foot 4 weeks agoo I've fallen off the wagon quite badly, but have resolved to be better this week, I'm not sure what training I can do, although weights and swimming are both fine, so I do have some options!

I've put on some weight although not as much as I probably deserve to have! Back on it this week and hopefully I can get myself back on track.

  • 80.3KG this morning.

Had a couple of bad weeks but back on it properly now.

  • 76.6, seem to have got stuck.

  • I"m at 80.1kg ... grrr sooo close to under 80. Trying to get to 75kg / 32" waist in 2 months. Beer is the problem. Clean eating though is helping

  • Woo first proper run in 4 weeks and my foot feels fine!

No looking at cani cross races this winter to keep me interested and give me an excuse to run with my pup.
