1000 - 1200 calories?? that is WAAAAY to low. you would lose weight, your body would think there was a famine on and as soon as you started eating normally again your body would be like "WOOHOO! the famine is over. lets store as much of this good shit as possible!" and you would soon be back where you started... trust me.

Even when I was 100% laid up and sedentary my body needed 1000-1200 calories and I am a petite female. For me to lose weight I have to concentrate on 1200 calories sedentary or 1500 if I am active and keep the fat grams at about 30g a day.

How does your body know which of the calories you take in come from fat and how does it treat them differently?

fat grams at about 30g a day.Calories is calories. Fat total is largely irrelavent. If you dont break your calorie limit, why should it matter if you got all your calories from fat? It wouldnt not matter from a weight loss perspective at all.

Ah, maybe not for you, but my body has problems processing fats.

Have you had that checked out? To be able to handle no more than 30g of fat per day is not normal. You might have a serious illness.

I did an 800 calories diet while cycling in Surrey, it's defintely the best way to drop 3 stones in 2 months.
but defintely not worth going through again, only for those who want to lose weight.

Could you give us an example of what you would eat in a day Ed, during that period?
-
• #592
rice mostly, green teas, water and sometime fruit.
I was earning £75 a weeks at the time to be fair, so not much choice on diet.

I agree, joe.
I'm wondering if that is my future once school starts...In other news, I don't know if I've lost weight, Ive cut calories but haven't upped the excersize that much, but even fairly random customers have been telling me I look good, so something must be working.
The bad news is I did all this for my NYC trip... Which has now gone sorta tits up.

@nhatt - you have always looked good!

Easy tiger!
Might look into the swimming puddle near me then. Will need to buy trunks though, haven't owned any in 15 years.

I decided to get some trunks after my big board shorts kept pissing me off, getting full of water and creating drag.
I felt funny walking around in front of people, in something smaller than your underwear. Weird experience, almost like being a naturist.

Ha! I hadn't been swimming in forever, but I had this bikini, and I thought it would be appropriate for the ladies only night at the lido.
I showed up to find tri-girls in wetsuits, girls with goggles, and only me in a little bikini with hearts on it.
To their credit no one stared, but itmust have been hard, I must have looked very silly with all those tattooes and my bikini. -
