  • 1000 - 1200 calories?? that is WAAAAY to low. you would lose weight, your body would think there was a famine on and as soon as you started eating normally again your body would be like "WOOHOO! the famine is over. lets store as much of this good shit as possible!" and you would soon be back where you started... trust me.

  • To be honest Clive I can get up hills fairly quickly and see my penis on a regular basis (even if we are not quite on speaking terms these days) but I still feel there has to be more to life than this.

Will, this is where you go wrong. If you but knew that climbing hills and surveying one's member were the summit of a man's goals, you could be a happy and content being. But no, types like you always want more. An adolescent read of Jonathan bloody Seagull and it's all want want want with your sort.

I am currently getting farc all exercise due to my knee, literally nothing. The ride from Camberwell to Souths last night was the most I've done over a walking pace in 2 months. Once the work rate goes up I'm sure the appetite will demand an increase.

  • "prrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrp"

    swimming?

  • I'm not a vain person but having my shirt off in a public place is not something I'm likely to do this side of 15 stone

  • Wear a wetsuit?

As long as no one throws fish or a ball you'd be fine.

  • I've got the bug back now. I've decided to cap my calories at around 1000 - 1200 (at a reasonable guess) and am slowly bringing some exercise back in after the quacks gave my knee the all clear.

So long as you're reasonably active it's a very simple personal dilemma. You just have to ask yourself the question "what do I want more? To lose weight or to eat that pie". If it's pie then eat the pie. If it's lose weight, don't eat the fucking pie.

Working in an office, I've never seen or heard of (over and over and over) more fad diets in my life. I swear one claimed to lose 10lbs in 3 days, "i'm only allowed 3 dry crackers and a black coffee" "i've gotta fit into a bikini by Tuesday" "i can have chocolate cos it's Thursday and the moon counter acts the sugar" that sort of bullshit. Then they go out and get smashed on lambrini or whatever it is they drink in Kent.

1000 is barely enough to cover basic organ functions. That said, if it is a complete guess then you are probably wildly underestimating. Apparently we all do that.

I'd rather be a fat lambrini drinker than a fat snob...

I'd second swimming if you have a bad knee. Its lovely on the knees. And you get to have a sauna.

Speaking of which, dooks, you recommended a swimmer near old street yonks ago. I never followed it up at the time. What was it called again?

Dude, when was the last time you went to a public swimming pool. I can guarantee you'll find all types there. All types. And who gives a fuck what other people think anyway?

Ironmonger Row swimming baths. It is a great place for a dip. The Turkish Baths are closed atm for a refurb but the pool is lovely.

I'm more concerned someone will steal my bucket.....

    That's the sausage. Thanks.

  • Went out for a hilly (for me) 6 miles and my knee didn't bother me at all. Weird seeing as though I make old man noises when I stand up after sitting down for more than an hour. This bodes well for training purposes.

Later I will reacquaint myself with the bathroom scales.

  • forget the flipping scales. i would measure your waist and shit. or just let your clothes be your guide (tighter / loser)

    just my opinion.

  • forget the flipping scales. i would measure your waist and shit.

    Really?

  • Really?

    yes.

the length and girth of your faeces is an important idicator of weight loss and and general health. just ask that cunt gillian mckeith.

  • Gaze in awe:

  • Proof that the scales are pretty pointless- I've gone from 34" waist trousers to 32".

burn the scales. trust the trousers.

    8'' 3lbs

  • 8'' 3lbs

    boy or girl?

  • 16 stone on the nose. Exactly what it was when I wrecked my knee. Proving Joe right. Must have lost some muscle and gained a lot of flab.

  • I've been going to Brockwell Lido- it is nice there, with a good range of weights/machines etc.

Let me know if you'd like to join me after work.

I've gone from a 34" waist to 32", doesn't seem to be any less podge.
