  • I propose the following as challenge dates:
    19th Feb
    18th March
    22nd April
    27th May

just found this thread - any chance I can join in?

If your still looking for a way to make it competitive i'd do it like this:

Everyone write down a starting weight and a target weight then calculate the difference. Then calculate what % of the way you are to achieving your target weight. That way you can account for everyones different starting points and end points but you also get to see how your progressing towards an achievable goal.

  • Ok speadsheet is set up.

Should be pretty self explanatory for now. I'll add charts and summaries (things like biggest % of base weight lost) in due course. I wanted to get the sheet out so people can start filling it asap.

Should we use LFGSS names to keep things easier?

It would be ideal to have as many people using this as possible so we can really help each other out.

Also I've done week ending weights as people have different weigh in dates.

Feel free to add comments to each of your weigh in cells if the need arises, right click on cell - add comment.

    Nice

I am going to have to join that, i'd be interested to see what happens to my weight now i am back in training. I'll weigh myself tomorrow and then break out the amphetamines, crack and Gin

  • all the Atkins users basically put their weight back on post diet.

Atkins caused the great Norwegian butter crisis of 2011.

    Trufacts.

My problem with the standard diet strcture. Is the protien thing. I'm not really a meat or dairy kinda guy. The shakes are saving me for sure.

need some pot, and the odd nutrimint drink thingie to balance that out.

    Otherwise, nice plan.

  • I shall join in the fun, as since I dropped the Gym down to two days a week, and have had to sack off running due to me foot, I have turned into a massive sack of lard.

  • just added myself, hope thats OK

  • absolutely, more the merrier!

could always use the shit yourself thin technique, or tapeworm...

  • I'll just ask them to take a bit off the sides when I go in for my Neurectomy

  • then break out the amphetamines, crack and Gin

    Urgh.. gin.

are those general suggestions or singled out for me?

  • i have joined on the spread sheet as i would like to shed some of the extra pounds i have gathered.

  • are those general suggestions or singled out for me?

sorry i was joining in with the ridiculous, but effective weight loss methods such as amphetamines, crack and so on...

  • just checking ;-)

  • Lots of people taking part now good to see!

  • Fuck me ....eyebrows thats a lot to take in ......what do you do for a job......???(nicely meant)

I'm a student. I also work for the red cross.
I miss having a proper job, massively- the commuting, the defined hours, etc.
Currently its revision time so my hours are a lot more controllable than during term time, when I also do a couple of extra things in the hospital or at a GPs (the GP stuff I tend to get paid for).
And to keep my cycling habit happy- I tend to do a medical trial/ year or so, one that I've carefully researched and seems interesting. Currently on a weight loss one anyways... getting paid between £500-700, which will be nice.

  • Is there a way we could add our daily routine to the chart to see what exercise we've been getting up to each week? If I log it and other people can see if I've been slacking I'm far more likely to stick to it.
So far today 10 pressups, 20 tri dips and a 15min jog, jumping over every log and bench in my path steeplechase style. Once I've recovered I'll do 20mins circuits. Prob not gonna have a decent ride today as we've got stuff to do.
Promax diet for breakfast feels like amphetamines......

  • http://www.trainingpeaks.com has a graph that shows either positive or negative energy balance - if you're one of the calorie counting crowd that can be bothered entering your food intake.

  • Fuck that. Lady Liz spends ages each evening totting up her calories, really doesn't seem worth the hassle. Like the idea of just logging what we've all been up to in order to get some new ideas.
As much as it pains me to say it, Jillian Michaels 30day shred dvd is pretty good. Trying to climb at least 1 tree each time I go for a run in the park as well seeing as I don't do tree surgery any more.
I have a short attention span for such things so need variety and random stuff that doesnt feel like exercise...

  • One of my workmates has lost loads of weight sticking to calorie controlled diet using one of those online systems. If you're dedicated I can see it working but I've got enough data going through my brain in a given day, I don't need to start thinking about that shit too.

  • True. I'm not looking to actually loose anything tbh, not watching my calories, just trying to replace shit food with good food. 66kg and 5'10 is hardly overweight, just need to convert belly to muscle.
I like the idea of being able to compare weekly routines with other forumengers tho, might go for a couple of death tt laps later if I can be arsed...
Gonna try and get back to the yoga once or twice a week as well, doesn't feel like enough of a workout but know it's doing good.

  • You're the same height as me and about 30kg less.. what in the name of baby jeebus are you doing in this thread?

  • Meh, I've yoyo'd between 10-14st for my whole adult life, was a tree surgeon up until last autumn so lost a shitload of muscle mass once I stopped so just want some motivation to tighten everything up a bit and maintain my weight for the first time.
Don't worry, you're still a shitload faster than me.

  • i have just snuffed out out the meanest steak and kidney pie with proper short pastry.. calorie control that!

It'd be interesting looking at power to weight- Hippy can put out a huge wattage number, for a considerable amount of time.

I wonder what (for example) Edmundro would have to put out to keep up, with his 30kg weight advantage?
