  • I'm a sweaty betty on my commute and I wanted to eke out one last use before it went in the wash.

Thats why dark colour caps are best.

When visible salt line reachs the end of the peak. Its wash time.

  • There was a very interesting study done on the dietry benefits of live yoghurt. Basically the theory is that if you eat live yoghurt daily, you poo out a higher % of your fat intake.

So bacon and sausage butty + yoghurt = neutral

    Awesome

The study involve monitoring total food intake, and its fat content. As well as total poo produced and its fat content. Even as a scientist, I was troubled by vision of sight of lab workers collecting someones poo each day, weighing and extracting the fat content.

    Nasty.

I think they were advocating replacing X amount of calories with the equivalent amount of yoghurt, and saying you needed to get through 500g a day (possibly more?). Dutch study, following on from research at the University of Tennessee. It was something to do with dairy-based calcium.

  • No one's got the money to buy poo on the open market these days.

Everyone's having to crimp and save for themselves.

    I stand corrected.

You're right it was'nt the live nature of the yoghurt, but simply the fact that low-fat yoghurt is a good way to consume calcium, without too much fat.

  • fucking shitty diet, eating too much protein as i have put on half a kg since last week....

  • february - 18 stone 5
    may - 16 stone 10

few pounds gone but really not as much as I hoped, think have put on a fair bit of muscle though.

just started swimming and gymming on top of the cycling, desperate to shift another 2 stone before summer kicks in properly.

will update at end of june.

  • Try my "broken jaw and smashed teeth" diet if you really want to shift it- everything has to be liquid.

    My day would be:

    Breakfast: Coffee
Lunch: Covent Garden Soup Co. Chicken Soup, possibly a yoghurt
Dinner: Saino's or Tesco's soup, followed by a yoghurt

Keep up the cycling and I will bet you shed weight like it's going out of fashion.

  • Ha... I did that diet a couple of years ago and lost loads of weight, only exception I was having a shake for breakfast and salad with protein for tea instead of more soup.... that chicken covent garden soup is unreal, quite high in calories though compared to other soups in their range.

Now though trying to make it maintable and keep energy levels up to train, so still eating carbs. Thinking about cutting them through june though to see what happens.

  • don't try and lose weight fast or you are unlikely to keep it off.

    slow and steady.

  • I've crossed the 100kg mark and am at 13%BF. I think it's mainly due to comfort eating. Im going to refocus my eating habits and hopefully get back down to 90-95kg.

  • 10.7% according to my scales, I am currently polishing off a box of Cadbury Roses.

  • 5300 calorie ride.. 2400 calorie intake. #fail

  • One last chocolate, just one

    #lies

  • I finished the block here ages ago. Just one last pizza and beer before bed and that should do it.

  • Hang on, I might have some icecream in the fridge

  • Phew cut down from 2 protein shake to one and the weight seems to be falling off with strength and running speed still improving, perhaps it was too much protein for me, or maybe I have just managed to ramp up my metabolic rate after 2 weeks of exercising and eating healthily.

Down to 79kg from 82.5kg on 2nd May.

Seem to have plenty if energy eating c.1500 calories per day so will keep at this level if exercise and no booziness and should reach my target of 75kg by the end of June.

  • ed do you mind me asking, what's your diet like to eat 1500 a day?

  • Soup, soup and more soup?

2 protein shakes sounds like a lot for running trainnig. I'm on 600ml shake a day (plus my body weight in fish and nuts), and actively trying to gain bulk.

(As an aside. I was 79Kg when I set my half marathon PB of 97mins. I am now 85kg, and took 102mins* over the weekend, on a very similar course. I'd rate my fitness as equal for both events, and the added weight is mainly muscle, so quite stationary. So expect to run considerbly faster when you get there.)

  • Diet is protein shake (promax diet) for breakfast as well as a glass of orange juice, lunch is a wrap with low fat cream cheese and smoked salmon and dinner is salad and chicken/steak/pork chop/fish.

@sf whilst training for my marathon I was down at 74kg but a combination of not running for 3 months and getting stuck into beer/chocolate/cake I went up to 81 82 and just stued at that since Christmas.

I'm also doing weight training and cycling on top of running 4 dys per week, it's a pretty intense programme but in getting married in July and I dot want to have a fat face in my wedding pictures!

  • I'm meant to be eating 1200 calories a day but on monday I ate a Burger King XL bacon double cheeseburger. Meal. Then I ate half of my friends XL bacon double cheeseburger because she was full. And finished off her chips.

    Fail.

  • TBH I just found it interesting that my speed dropped so much purely because I was carrying a few more Kg's. Mainly interesting, as I feel this was the only variable (well, to a point).

When I wanted to keep my weight down when running. I'd have a bowl of all-bran as a recovery meal, after an evening run. Kept me off the snack food.

  • have people found cutting fat, like that in milk, has made a big difference to weight loss? (i have 1% at home, semi skimmed from costa...) I tend to have 1 latte if I'm working, and on work days have a bowl of cereal with about 300ml of milk.

Would switching to skimmed/cutting it out actually make a difference?

Ed, i don't know how you manage to train on that diet, but I think maybe the training I'm doing is fairly intensive and making me very hungry.

  • Fuuuuuuuuuuu

So lost 7 pounds in my weeks of inactivity

Waist increased by 1.5inches and fat went from 9% to 18%
