Fuck The Times and their paywall.
In my experience from the last 2 weeks, cutting out the booze and adding an extra five miles each way to my 10 mile commute (upping to 30miles a day in total) has been enough to kick start something and I've shed some blubber.
I have also started squeezing in 2 x 20 press ups and sits ups as soon as I get off the bike. Yes in reality that means heading straight to the disabled toilet for a puffing and panting but it works.
I also find reading this thread helps whenever I fancy a bacon butty.

I find Rudy's on Roger Street is the best help when I fancy a bacon butty.

How is that possible, knackers? I weight 85kg and you are much taller than me. And I am lean like a greyhound, or maybe like a cheetah or a gazelle or something.

but also cuddly like a guinea pig.

Height can be pretty deceptive I've found. I trained with a guy last night who was only 4-5" shorter than me but weighed 33kgs less.

I was just under 85kg this time last year, been working the guns innit.
There is not a great deal more fat to lose.

BMI states 'overweight' getting close to obese. But I dont really have much fat other than the usual middle age love handles, and I need them.
I've actually started whey protein, to gain a bit more

i've always thought BMI was a pretty blunt tool.

My BMI is 21.79- whatever that means

I am well into the obese range according to my BMI. Rubbish for the very tall.

Your BMI is 30.1, which means you are in the very overweight or obese category. Losing weight would make a big difference to your health - you might want to speak to your GP about the best way to do this.
Piss off BMI.
I have a 32" waist, and can run 13 miles in less than 100 minutes. How the feck can I be considered obese/unhealthy? -

slurps down a nasty tasting protein shake, and puts tongue out at BMI website

Couldn't agree more. Although cutting out drink, doing press ups at home after rides and generally keeping an eye on what I eat is working for me at the moment.

Does it involve going to a gym or using any special equipment other than a bike?
