  • ffs people.

alright i suppose a 14bike co lo-pro would do then.

  • And what do points make?

I've no idea as I've amassed the grand total of 0.3 of a point so far this year.

As TT_Tom says, points are so last year.

  • Points are for people who turn up every week

  • To be fair. You do need to do a little bit more than turn up :)

  • But it is sort of essential.

  • I turn up every week, and Ive got 0.5 points. Ive also got an alu frame and Im not in the top 15. So in a way, you're all wrong.
I like my Nelson though, mainly because no-one else has got one. This year, as Andy pointed out, is all about being about 7th or 8th in as many A races as I can, therefore never getting any points, but still being pretty fast. Never winning means no pressure means more enjoyment*

*I'm blatantly lying, wish I could get a couple of points though.

  • @Marlowwheels

Why don`t you get yourself measured, and see what fits you for a start?

  • ffs people.

alright i suppose a 14bike co lo-pro would do then.

    and risers.

    carbon ones.

  • I have some choppy down carbon risers for sale. Good for cruising in town for super smooth buttery ride and no buzzing feel [/edscobleism]

  • Dear y-s, when you say good mass-start frame, will I not be able to use it for pursuits...as wanted to try these as natural extension of time trialing...? Thanks again for your thoughtful input and patience...all appreciated

I can't say if it works or not, it's more of a problem when you're a vertically challenged like me, at 5'7". Look doesn't list their head tube length for 464, and it looks quite tall from the photos I've seen. if you set your pursuit bars high, it won't be a problem, if you want them low, you might need an adjustable stem. measure the head tube length + spacers of your TT bike, and see if the frame you want has workable head tube length.

I can only speak from experience, and I haven't ridden either of those. Road my new Vigorelli (@Saindsbury's Ed not Mash, sans spoks ;)), and didn't notice anything that I could attribute to a difference in geometry. The one thing I did notice was the bars supplied with it (Cinelli Vai XL) are far too wide, and far too shallow a drop and will be changed toot suite for some Nitto track drops I've been using for the past few years

Vigorellis are built almost like road bike, with short rake fork. I'd imagine it's fairly stable/slow handling(depends how you see it) with trail 65 to 70. It's still a nice bike, but quite a bit different compared to something like koga.
certain geometry doesn't make one bike superior to another, but one might fit a certain rider and their events better than another.

  • I was looking into this frame as a replacement for my alu Condor Pista, and it's still likely to be the one I choose if the Condor ever gives up the ghost. Tim @ Fisher kindly sent me a more thorough geometry chart, including HT measurements.

  • Thank you...can't read geometry file on my Blackberry but the guys at Velodrome shop measured the size small Look frame head tube and said it was 126mm. This compares to 105mm for my size 54 Cervelo P3C TT bike so y-s is correct that the Look frame is tall...I have to use a high angled stem on my Cervelo to compensate for short head tube so hopefully should be OK with the Look...? Bring Me My Fix, have you seen one in the flesh?

  • Re: T1 I don't think you see many ally frames with a bridge on the chainstay so I'm guessing it pretty stiff and the tubing looks pretty slippy too...

  • That Look 464 is a bit over priced IMO

  • ^ If Fisher had brought in the complete 464 version they do in EU I would definitely have had one on bike to work though. Pretty.

I also thought they would be French made but they are Taiwan frames too.

  • No, I've not seen one in the flesh. But the current UK pricing is definitely over the top. I'd not want to pay more than £499.

It's almost identical to the current Condor Lavoro, except it's got a drilled fork. It pisses me off that Condor say the warranty is voided if the Lavoro's ridden on the road (for example, to and from the velodrome).

If Look don't shift their price-point back to the level that was originally rumoured, the next best bet is probably a Dolan Track Champion, unless Felt start offering some of their models as frameset only in this country. The Dolan Track Champion is like getting a pre-integrated seat-tube version of the Fuji Track Pro as a frameset.

Or something. I don't care anymore.

  • Why did BMC stop making a track frame??? Wankers.

I wanted one of those and the only ones I ever see come up for sale are for fucking midgets.

  • In certain circles, they're considered fragile, after one too many spectacular disintegrations. Although that might just be because a large percentage of their ridership were fucking idiots.

  • I've been 2 years on those FSA carbon cranks that disintegrate. Still turning.

Maybe BMC is the brand of fatso trackso riders?

  • I think P-X are missing a trick, not doing an alu track frame. Not that ugly thing they did for a short while, but a Look-Lavoro-Cum-Dolan-A-Like, for about £250-300 f+f (with a conventional seat-tube fitting).

    They'd sell millions.

    @Dov - BMC=BloatedMintedCycletwatz

  • The perfect first time skidder about town for London's current crop of privileged twat-yoof.

Au contraire, Blackadder...this is why they sell so many carbon frames.

  • Define 'so many'. And there have been quite a few dissatisfied customers.

If they'd done an alu frameset with the same aesthetic, but half the price, they'd have sold 'so many' times a million.

  • 'so many' x 'million' = four hundred and eight
