  • Anyone read The Walking Dead?
I have been for years (well, the trade paperbacks, dont hate on me)
    Picked up #18 (103-108 iirc)
Fuck me, this is getting better and better.

  • Yup. Haven't read past 13 though (when it went shit), but hear - as you say - that it's got better.

More discussion about that comic here:

  • do you like Allan Moore?

    OF COURSE YOU DO!

give me your money please so i can make this with him. (im in line to DP the project)

    go on...

  • Has anyone read Before Watchmen?
Completely missed the comics but I saw the TP in my local comic shop. Worth reading?
I loved Watchmen, but I am not precious.

  • anyone have any ideas how best for me to value these comics?

have way more but thought it'd photograph these and stick em on flickr, i don't like the idea of listing each one individually on ebay!

  • Can't believe I missed Before Watchmen, gah!

Been thinking about selling my OG copies, #1 signed by Alan Moore... What's the value?

  • A beer, Joe, or two?

  • fiddy dorrar?

  • Started reading Planet Hulk.
Wanted to read Red Hulk, but that followed on from World War Hulk, which was a follow up to Planet Hulk.
Not read much Marvel before, its all a bit confusing, finding out what order you have to read stuff in.

Although Having an ideal use for my nook hd+ is good.

  • Just polished off the first four volumes of Joe Hill's Locke and Key.
    Absolutely awesome stuff.

  • Apart from the fairly high chance of them royally screwing this up...

...who should play the Saint of Killers?

  • Got 2 of the Before Watchmen books for Christmas, they are pretty good (so far)
Also got Batman: The Killing Joke for my birthday, man that is awesome. Bleak and dark.
Have Age of Ultron to read in the Marvel side of things, and I'm going to pick up The Joker (the new 52) Death of the Family tonight.
Not been a massive batman fan before, but I think I can get into them. Any recommendations for batman graphic novels?

  • Try this. It's not Batman, but then again Batman always struck me as a right wing, libertarian wet dream. Frank Miller's right wing sympathies are well documented and he certainly doesn't balk at expressing them in his 'work'. So yeah, fuck batman.

also - "graphic novels" - hnnnnnggg

  • I say GN as I tend to go for trade paperbacks or compendiums, rather than weekly comics.

I am a bit of an Allan Moore fan, not read swamp thing, will grab it tonight when I visit my friendly local comic shop.
    Cheers!

  • Hope you enjoy it. and fuck those lit-scene pigeonholers, it's a comic book regardless of how many pages it has. be proud & say it loud :)

  • Picked up Saga of the Swamp Thing, it's good.
Need to put vol 2 &3 on order aty local comic shop.
Also reading The Joker: Death of the Family, that's looking good so far.

Age of Ultron is not that good, I've put it aside for the time being.
TWD 20 came out (trade paperback, can't be dealing with individuals) bit ive not started it yet, need to re-read from about 16 again.

  • Nice. I keep meaning to read more Swamp Thing.

I re-read Batman: The Long Halloween recently. I recon it's the best Batman.
Lent out my complete Bone saga to a friend, it's brilliant.

  • Zenith Phase 1 and Phase 2 now available on pre-order.

I love 2000ad and still subscibe - favourite part of my weekend is having a coffee and reading the latest prog that has dropped in through the letter box.

The wife is getting annoyed as not I've literally hundred of them all over the place

  • Favourite 2000AD story: Slaine.
Least favourite: any of the Tharg bollocks.

I read Halo Jones again recently - still really good.

  • I've also just power read all of Girl Genius and MegaTokyo.

It's made me remember how much I dislike episodic / cliffhanger writing.

  • Love 2000AD, my dad used to buy it when I was a kid, so got massively into it
I used to have a huge collection but space dictated me getting rid of it in the end.
I do however now, have a massive back catalogue of 2000AD in CBZ format if anyone wants a copy, I recently re-read the Dead Man and Necropolis - still as awesome as I remember.
Favourite single story: Anderson PSI - Shamballa - love everything about it, especially the artwork, I cant remember his name off hand but I think he did Button man as well, another excellent story.
I had a subscription to the digital editions for a while, but let it expire - I should really start it up again.

  • ABC Warriors and Sinister & Dexter

There have been some fantastic Dredd stories recently too

Have a look at my Instagram for a couple of pics philqr - I met Dredd at the Comic Con (Comic con - now that was a weird experience)
