@dancing james it was a victim blamey video by a regional police force of a cyclist getting hit by a car, saying the cyclist should have worn hi vis.
They got a torrent of shit for it and appear to have taken it down.
Heh.

I look up, make eye contact with him in the wing mirror and give him a friendly wave...
Playing Devil's Advocate: one man's "I'm here, kind of thing", is another's "complete your manoeuvre, I'm letting you in".

It's been a while since I flew a desk, but back then a standard policy would cover "social, domestic and pleasure use only".
However it was possible, for an additional premium natch, to have various classes of business use added.
Whether the likes of Deliveroo would check that this has been effected and what the odds that a moped riding, pizza pusher would pay the extra are, is another question altogether...

Ah thanks, I haven't subbed that thread. Probs for the best.

F10AKX Excessive beeping while I stopped to let somebody pull out across me without indicating. Wants a fight, drives his rudebwoy range at me, I drop bike and beg him too. Half opens door and tells me he'll stab me if I didn't have that camera on my head. I turned on aforementioned camera, which was a torch, lit up his muggy face and he bottled it.
Second wanker on the same road within two days otherwise I would just called him many a cunt and got home quicker.
PS I did have camera but it's on handlebars so only have muffled audio. :(

Report that cunt.
Had two close passes yesterday, one buy some prick in a BMW (reg: P10PEP), he must've been doing at least 50mph in a 30, and passed me with a few inches to spare, completely unnecessarily.
Saw him do a ridiculous overtake on a car just ahead of me, so I think he's just a total cunt. Hopefully bar-mounted camera captured it - will have to check. Also had some prick in a Corsa fuck up trying to overtake me as we both crossed a junction and then almost squeezed me off the road at the other side of the junction when he realised that he didn't want to be in the hatched box when the lights changed.

Nothing will happen as nothing happened just some friendly British road banter plus you can't hear him saying it, just me saying "go round there then" and "get your knife out then"

Sergeant Clarke at Camden says he will use Section 59 on close-passers. Two strikes and old bill take your car.

If they seize anyone's car I'll be pleasantly surprised. Pleasantly very surprised.

Out here in the sticks people have the aggression of London with none of the congestion.
Yesterday a bus came flying round parked cars, and nearly head on into me. 10 mins later (that part of the route loops to a sports center/ASDA) he looks surprised I'm waiting for him. Passengers waiting give me the "on your bike piss off" while he claims "you're still here aren't you" and "plenty of room".
Their main office is on the way to town, the complaints lady was thanking me for being so nice and polite by the end of our chat.
On the way home a white Audi sports car tries to accelerate and jump the roundabout as I'm almost alongside him. Narrow avoid.
The fuck is wrong with people?

Cunts. Cunts everywhere.

It's one of those things where that's the plan but when he actually has to get a court to agree close passes are a definition of anti-social driving that's another thing. I suspect like most stuff when it goes to court and a "normal innocent unlucky motorist who happens to have done multiple illegal drivings infront of the police" who then says they need to drive to mums and claim crushing the car will create exceptional hardship that they will then get let off.
I'd really like the first car crushed to be turned into a statue somewhere near a major road.

I get what you are saying but unfortunately not in this situation- I could see him in the mirror and as he saw me he screwed up his face and then lurched over into the lane.
Now got a situation where the fleet manager won't take/return my call

Very nearly got side-swiped by a taxi yesterday, followed by the whole don't touch my vehicle, you don't pay road tax bollocks. Now reported to roadsafe including the fact that he was making an illegal turn at the time. Let's see how this goes.

Had an incident on monday evening where I was hit by a car and they drove off. I reported it to the police and going to give a statement on saturday at the police station.
Yesterday I rode past where it happened and noticed CCTV directly opposite which would of seen it all. It is either owned by a Sainsburys local or a betting shop.
How do I go about checking the footage? let the police know on saturday or call them before hand? or go in the sainsburys or betting shop to let them know?

You can make a subject access request under the data protection act for any footage you're in. It'd be better to do this sooner rather than later (CCTV gets wiped - sometimes as quickly as 24 hours, other times up to 2 weeks), so I wouldn't wait for the police to do it.

CCTV gets wiped
It's worth asking for the retention policies too - the data controller for the CCTV should have this.

• #7273
Thanks for the info.
Luckily I managed to get a photo of the car/driver as they were reversing off my bike and driving away.
Also have two witnesses, a cyclist who was behind me and an amublance drive who was in front of me on the other side of the road.

That's weird, I was on a course a year or two ago with the guy that filmed it. Unless there's more than one Laurence de Hoest...
