Ever frequent Jilly's? I may have served you beer.
I used to fall asleep against the big cabs on Friday nights

Hmm, did you go to university from 1997?
If so I know you.

Fucking hell, I had a scary one this morning.
Im turning off of the strand, left onto drury lane. I indicate that Im turning left and take the appropriate line in. A red van behind me decides to accelerate past me as I have started turning, to turn left himself, essentially cutting off my path. I slam on my brakes and avoid going into the side of him. I shout "what the f***" at him, he gestures at me and starts shouting something that I cant hear. I call him a dick.
He then swerves his van at me aggresively several times (im on his inside). I think to hell with this and stop and let him go. I made a mental note of his reg but wasnt convinced I would remember him so I decide to catch him. I filter past him on the left and he is swearing at me some more. I told him I was going to report him to the police and his boss (company van) and then cycle off. I then pulled over to write his reg and company name down on my phone, but he sees me and slams on his brakes (stopping traffic) to have a word with him. He is really aggressive, pointing at me and telling me to "watch my fucking mouth". He told me that he took a wide berth to overtake me and that I should have taken a tighter line. He said that I shouldnt be riding a "stupid fucking push bike". I told him its single lane traffic and that youre not supposed to overtake on a left turn like that. He tells me to fuck off etc and to watch my back and drives off.
So what do I do now? Call the police? Use the link in the first post? Call his company?
I want to be kept anonymous, this dude was scary, don't want him visiting my house...

Call the police, then call his company.
Preferrably write a letter/email to the company as it easier to express what happen, describe the driver in detail too.

Write a letter to his employers, fill out a roadsafe report.
His employer (name & shame, by the way) may have a word, but the police are likely to just record it and do nothing else.
-
• #3084
But will these methods keep me confidental? I dont want the driver getting a hold of my name.
-
• #3085
Yes. Alternatively, don't just give your real name.
-
• #3086
I vote you report him under the name Prince Farty McFluffpants.
-
• #3087
Reported the cock on roadsafe. Now going to write an email to his boss with the name suggested by OSR.

Hovis I doubt you'd have anything to worry about, especially if you report it to the police.
-
• #3089
Yeah I was kidding, I used a proper name. I have emailed his company as well now with a full description of what happened and that I had contacted the police.
Feel better now that I have reported him, whether or not anything is done about it or not.
Cheers folks, as you were.

What a nutjob. Jeebus.
You gonna post up the response from the company (if any)?
-
• #3091
Yeah of course
-
• #3092
What was the company?
Like the berkshire carpets (or similar) from earlier I doubt they would appreciate the poor publicity that could result from a bit of facebook harassment... and it can be made clear that the actions of their staff can and will lose custom

The company was M.T Drains.
I'm going to give them a chance to respond before I start shaming them though, its only been a couple of hours!

WAC, lets see some justice from this

I wouldn't be surprised if he was m.t. drains. the website and address on the website seem to indicate it's a one-man show.

You're very unlikely to get any trouble from him. Firstly the people you have reported it to are not going to be distributing your name, and even if they did, it is very unlikely that he would follow through on his threats once he is not in his van. People are in a different more aggressive place when they are driving which does not necessarily translate to their out of vehicle persona. But he still needs to be reported and ideally banned from ever driving again - if he cannot handle a vehicle without endangering other people, then he should not be put in that position. Unlikely, but if he gets removed from driving duties at his current job, we will all be a little safer.

Not so sure about that, they do have an 0800 number. And work out of an actual office, here: https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=+307+Bexhill+Road+.+TN38+8AH&hl=en&ll=50.850548,0.521708&spn=0.001233,0.001754&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=9.456424,14.370117&t=h&hnear=307+Bexhill+Rd,+St+Leonards-on-sea+TN38+8AH,+United+Kingdom&z=19&layer=c&cbll=50.850548,0.521708&panoid=uPPPQrTbi4L43LOsfoQeyA&cbp=12,142.88,,1,1.19

^ha!
I actually goaded him when he told to watch myself, replying, "Oh really? Why is that? What are you going to do" He did not retort though. Shame, there could have been a nice van man beat down on drury lane tale for me to tell instead.
The problem is, if one googles my name, my parents address comes up rather than where I currently live, and you never know in this day and age. Plenty of nut jobs out there.
oh.
