You should report him to the police but I don't think given his behaviour a road safe report is sufficient. You should definitely report his driving, but within this bit:
I then pulled over to write his reg and company name down on my phone, but he sees me and slams on his brakes (stopping traffic) to have a word with him. He is really aggressive, pointing at me and telling me to "watch my fucking mouth". He told me that he took a wide berth to overtake me and that I should have taken a tighter line. He said that I shouldnt be riding a "stupid fucking push bike". I told him its single lane traffic and that youre not supposed to overtake on a left turn like that. He tells me to fuck off etc and to watch my back and drives off.
There seem to be several potential public order offences covered by the Public Order Act, possibly * Section 4A - Intentional harassment, alarm or distress * or Section 5 - Harassment, alarm or distress which cover the threatening behaviour:
*Threatening behaviour' is covered by Section 4 of the Public Order Act, 1986.
"Section 4 - Fear or Provocation of Violence
A person is guilty if he either
a) uses towards another person threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, or
b) distributes to another person any writing or sign which is threatening, abusive or insultingand either
i) he intends to cause that person to believe that immediate unlawful violence will be used against him or another by any person or to provoke such immediate violence, or
ii) it is likely that the person will believe that such violence will be used against him, or it is likely that such violence will be provoked." *N.b. I am not legally qualified at all, that's off the internet and should be treated with a pinch of salt but seems to check out. But you should do some quick research and report him for that too because he does indeed sound like a right nutjob.

The Cycling Lawyer managed (after severe attempt) to get the police to act upon the offence you've listed so I reckon it's worth trying.
-
• #3104
Ok. I will give the police non emergency number a call this evening.

Always bear in mind that cunts will be cunts... While you might not have enough evidence to instigate police action, looking at this incident as an isolated occurrence, the driver's behaviour is more than likely not a one off. It's essential that you report it, as there could very well be a pattern forming, which sooner or later will count against him.

~~^ that way of thinking encourages cunts to be cunts.
A word from the police or other action can make cunts think twice about being cunts.~~
Oops misread your post, one "not" missed as I read and it sounded like you were saying don't bother, sorry.

Surprise surprise, no response from M.T Drains about their cock driver. I have called the OneTime and they have recorded the incident. I have to go and collect a Form 966 to fill in too and then I guess I have done my bit.

MT Drains are based in Hastings?
I'm down in Hastings this weekend visiting family if you'd like an MT Drains souvenir

If it is definitely them, write to both the two local papers: http://www.hastingsobserver.co.uk/ and http://www.bexhillobserver.net/
If it gets published you're pretty much guaranteed a grovelling response - the letter pages are serious business down there!

Yeah, they are based in hastings I believe, assuming there is only one MT drains serving london and the south east.
I will give the police a chance to respond before I start sending letters. Thanks for the tips folks, would love it if this prick lost his job.

Don't be too hasty are you sure it was M.T. Drains Ltd. and not M.T. Drain and Sewer Services Ltd.?
The latter is based in Aldershot so also a possibility no?

• #3113
hhmm its hard to say. The logo on the van doesnt look like the one on the website of M.T Drains Ltd to be fair. Can I use the reg plate to link to the correct company somehow?
-
• #3114
Just googled it and found its registered to east sussex, definitely them.

• #3115
MT Drains in Folkestone too...
-
• #3117
Thats the one hatbeard, exactly that van. Anyone know what model van that is? The police were asking this.
Edit, nevermind, they probably have more than one van so perhaps unwise to make assumptions

• #3118
That even looks like the knob that was driving it

MT Drains in Folkestone too...
Somehow it strikes me that it must be a faintly popular joke ...
-
• #3120
Oh shit... Just got it...
-
• #3121
when you see it you'll shit... etc.
-
• #3122
also in that photo i posted it looks like there's a second mt drains van next to the bloke on the right (with the back doors open).
-
• #3123
Find the van and change it to this:
-
• #3124
^^^ VW Transporter
-
• #3125
With a ford sign on the back?
If you respond to threats like that rather than being intimidated most people back down and get a bit more reasonable or just shut up and try to avoid interacting with you any more. And if they don't then you're a well hard fixie rider innit, no way you won't come out on top...
