Well, no, we surmised that the poor battery performance might be to do with an elderly battery, I don't see how that could effect the screen accuracy though?
All of my phones have been replaced due to various hardware failures, none of them the battery.
We didn't eliminate the battery being the cause of the failures (other than you button problem which you reckon is a known fault). Maybe you just push the buttons too hard. Probably too many years using Blackberry.

Tried that - says no updates are available.
I'm still on 2.3.3
on T-Mobile
If you're not SIM free it's up to the provider to release the update. You'll have to hassle T-Mob for it.

There is only one button! It snapped off, admittedly, but that is a known fault which a quick Google will reveal.
How can the battery holding it's charge like a French soldier be what is causing the trackball to stop working?!

Look, I don't know what you do with your phones. All I know is I've used a bunch of different ones and I've never taken any back because it broke. That includes the iPhone and oh wait I bent the charger socket on the Blackberry when I knocked it off the desk plugged in but it still worked. Shit, I still have my first phone and other than the motorbike-induced broken screen it still works. Is there anyone using a Nexus1 on the planet that's had as many problems with it as you? Why do you still use it?

The only other phone that I have had that went wrong as often was a Blackberry Pearl- that was replaced roughly every 3 months.
The casing of my iPhone cracked by the charger port, that was replaced under warranty also.
I am still using the Nexus as it's basically a new phone- I get a new one every three months from Vodafone, so my motivation to buy a new handset is limited, especially as I have not seen anything on the market that makes me want to spend ~£450 on it.
The only application I use is the Kindle app, and the main use the phone gets is email, web-browsing, Kindle, texts and phone calls, in that order.

"according to T-Mobile there’s no way to expedite how quickly you receive the update"
You can try powering down the phone, turning it back on and then doing Check Update.

Balls. I tried it out last night. Pictures are fairly slow to load, and it jumps back to TV if you skip through a load of pictures in one go. (That'll be a problem with my TV though)
Complete fail on playing videos though. No idea if this is an issue with the phone, the app or the TV though. No error messages.
Let's see if Serviio works any better...
What TV have you got? I think my problems with playback are my TV, not Skifta. I've got a Bravia which has a really limited selection of things it will play. The on the fly conversion from Serviio is good but not that good either.
I'm super impressed but it all seems to have a long way to go.

I have a Samsung UE32C5100, to be precise! It can play all sorts of stuff off an external hard drive plugged directly into the TV (Including MKV files, which is very cool!)
But when I tried serving those same files over DLNA with XBMC, it claimed it couldn't play that file format. LIES!
Yeah, there's a long way to go, but it's going to be cool!

I saw the Sony S1 being demo-ed on BBC Breakfast this morning.
The functionality is, if not impressive, is positively amazing.
I had a quick play with one that Sony were using to control some functions on one if their cameras last weekend.....really liked it.....3.2 is very slick and the tablet feels VERY light. I'm going to be tempted to replace the Galaxy Tab as soon as the Sony's in the shops!
