As has been told to me previously (I was being forum educated), there's no 4G network in the UK.

Still not an HTC Touch HD running a cracked Dutty'd version of Windows mobile 6.1 tho is it?
Thank fuck for that! :P
Good luck with that 4G hunt :)
WinMo is dead. Nokia are getting desperate. andyp has gone quiet because he's seen the (green) light. Happy Days.

I would almost feel sad for Nokia, except that the last phone I had from them, was the most useless thing ever created. It needed fucking update, after fucking update from Carphonewarehouse, patch after fucking patch, and the piece of shit phone was still irredeemable. That's when Nokia and I parted ways.
Nokia have tried to say that Android platforms don't deliver good profits......well they obviously chose to ignore HTC and Motorola stocks on the market. Silly them. As for andyp, I like the fact that a big brain like his isn't being wasted on a dead-end OS.
I heard he's programming a Lfgss Android app. It's sole function is to tell people to HTFU and to UTFS. It will sell millions.

hippy, is the Desire HD still running the standard Snapdragon chip? I'd be wanting something more powerful in graphics processing for my next upgrade. Give me good news. ;)
They didn't say. Someone mentioned an Andeon chip but i've no idea.
Okay, I did a bit of checking, and it seems that the CPU and GPU are improved.
The Snapdragon name remains the same, but its actually a newer process 45nm chip, instead of the previous 65nm one.
The Adreno 205 GPU replaces the previous Adreno 200, and gets closer to the Samsung Hummingbird CPU+GPU performance. So, even if the physical chassis is akin to the HTC EVO 4G, the innards are better in every way. It now looks a really good phone.
It even looks like the Desire HD has eclipsed the Motorola Droid X, even before its had a chance in Europe. Not a bad thing really.I await confirmation or rebuttal of these snippets. Its internet info, so could easily be wrong.
I've added an image that I posted before in this thread, showing cpu type and power.

I'm assuming this bit of the internet should be right:

Only has a 1230 mAh battery, Desire has 1400, Wildfire has 1300. I hope that processor is a lot more power efficient...

T-Mobile say that the HTC Desire HD (click for preview) will be available from October, at no more than £35 per month, on contract.
A day later, T-Mobile say it is now £40 per month. Yes, seriously. Too many cooks it seems.http://www.electricpig.co.uk/2010/09/16/htc-desire-hd-arriving-free-on-t-mobile-on-40-contract/

Hmm.. I thought I posted this stuff last night. Maybe I did but not here.
Anyway the claimed standby times are longer even with the smaller battery and larger screen. This is probably due to a combination of more efficient 45Nm 8255 CPU (versus 65Nm 8250 CPU in the desire) and the new Sense which has surely been tweaked (eg. the faster boot time).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snapdragon_(processor)The GPU is tweaked but not sure how it will compare with current leader Galaxy S.
http://www.electricpig.co.uk/2010/09/16/htc-desire-hd-vs-samsung-galaxy-s-stat-clash/I'm going to preorder one now that I know the updates are more than just a better camera.
Playing with the DHD last night the home screen seemed as fast as mine (fast) but the maps seemed to be more responsive.

So, my bank statement shows me Vodafone took out TWO payments, one with DD and other with card, when I had called months before to cancel DD. But apparently I have to call my bank now to sort the matter out.
However I have cancelled my insurance. And MIGHT root the Xperia. But we will see. :p

http://www.electricpig.co.uk/2010/09/16/htc-desire-hd-vs-samsung-galaxy-s-stat-clash/Sorry if a repost also.
GPU comparisons:
•Apple iPhone 4: 800 Mhz Cortex-A8 with PowerVRSGX535 GPU = 28 million triangles/sec
•HTC Desire HD: MSM8255 with Adreno 205 = 41 million triangles/sec
•Samsung Galaxy S: S5PC110 with PowerVR SGX540 = 90 million triangles/sec
•Motorola Droid: TI OMAP3430 with PowerVR SGX530 = 7-14 million triangles/sec
•Nexus One: Qualcomm QSD8×50 with Adreno 200 = 22 million triangles/sec
•iPhone 3G S: 600 MHz Cortex-A8 with PowerVR SGX535 = 28 million triangles/sec
•HTC Desire: MSM8250 with Adreno 200 = 21 million triangles/secAnd for comparison a couple consoles:
•PS3: 250 million triangles/sec
•Xbox 360: 500 million triangles/sec -

Bank has to refund DD immediately, don't let them try to say you have to talk to Vodafone.

I've had to take a copy of that in to Lloyds before, as they claimed it wasn't true. They suddenly produced the refund on the spot.
