Okay, I'm probably way out on this but it really looks like a find-and-replace with wildcards would do it (Word can replace 'everything between this character and that character' with a space, or nothing). If you had a galley of the text with all formatting there would be common ranges of characters that you could use to identify the sections you want to clean out.
::edit:: as suggested up there!

This is essentially what I'm doing (removing any instance of "HYPERLINK" when using the 'field code' view in Word breaks the code and the notes are gone when pasted again). But it's also what I want to avoid because it makes a mundane, but doable, process into something much more time consuming by adding a third app and few more key combo steps.
Stupid computers.

is there an elegant solution to a mismatch in diameter between some carbon forks and headtube/lower bearinng (integrated headset)?
I am thinking that maybe a neoprene lizard skins dust sock thing might smooth the transition?

Personally I'd be tempted to post the things into Excel and then remove the characters/sections you don't want formulaically or using a macro all in one go at the end of the exercise (but I am an accountant so Excel is the solution to most problems).

Some of the cells are larger than Excel will accept (32k characters?). I'm actually building CSV files.

Yeah, it's a bit of a faff
Bit spendy for a BB but it worked for the 6800 crankset on my 2016 CAAD12 Disc

That's ceramic. Plenty of cheaper adaptors.

Been advised to post in here.
I don't know where to buy a headset that fits, I'm pretty sure I can find bearings but I need the full headset with all races etc.
The OD of the headtube is 42mm and the ID is 38. I don't have calipers but the 1.1/8" Orbit FSA doesn't fit and I have measured it another way. There's no taper.
Sorry if this question is a bit benign and the pics don't help.
Cheers.

38mm bearings implies 1" steerer. A BMX shop is probably your best bet, because 1" integrated never really took off on road bikes, but beware of crown race sizing, 1" BMX tends to be 27.0 while most road bikes are 26.4, so you may have to create a Frankenstein headset using a suitable crown race from an EC30 road headset. If you search for IS38 headsets you should find something, if you have plenty of money the Cane Creek 40 comes in a IS38 version, it's a bit posh for something that ratty but it's a good headset.

Safe tester. Its the CC40 that I'd seen bearings for. Struggling to find the full shebang but I have the whole world at my fingertips really, it'll happen. I know the frame might be pony but its been years on the list and I'd like to see it through.
Its a weird frame. Its a Ribble that literally has no info other than people on forums asking for info. One was sold on ere years ago. -

That looks like a internal (IS) headset to me, have a look at http://www.parktool.com/blog/repair-help/headset-standards#article-section-5
That has all the info on every headset standard -

Looks like the frame mounts are flat mount and the caliper is post mount. So you need an adaptor. Adaptor size will depend on rotor size as well.

Cheers @TurtleRecall. I kind of thought as much although struggling to see how it's all gonna fit. I'll head to Bikeworks and they can sort me out...cheers!

Luggage - I have a couple of North Face wheeled soft-cases, one carry on size and the other hold sized. The handle has stopped working on the carry-on, and apparently this is not something that North Face will either warranty or repair officially, so fuck them and their disgraceful customer service.
Who has a recommendation for luggage from a manufacturer who will actually provide after-sales support worthy of the name?
