It's standard for Campag, but not for anybody else these days.

Generally, seem to get what you pay for when it comes to mattresses.
We bought a Tempur about 15 years ago and it has been exceptionally comfortable, including through two pregnancies (not sure if that's likely to be an issue for you, but just in case...)
However they are expensive and have gone up quite a bit since we bought ours.
IKEA are generally good value - we've got kids mattresses from there so maybe go to a store and try a few out? They have a decent range so likely you can find one better than your current model.
I don't think all foam are the same. We've bought cheap ones too and they are more like what you describe; thin and very firm.

Ive had two mattresses from John Lewis and they have been great. They also tend to have reduced display mattresses instore.
A memory foam topper from Amazon makes a huge difference.

Been charged £85 from LBS to do the following work:
- Relace rear brake cable
- put chain on
- index gears
- replace nut on front brake
- new pads for front brake
- clip excess cables
- tidy up bartape
This that excessive? Sounds a bit high.. Anyone wanna do it for 50?

German language experts ironically less authoritarian than French language experts.

Mainly less authoritative--that a lot of the 1996 reform was retracted again caused a total lack of clarity and, as I said, now many publishers have made up their own rules. As for asserting an authority that they have on paper at least, I don't know what the law is about that in Germany, e.g. whether there are any judicial ways of forcing publishers to adhere to the current 'official' line. It seems that either people think it's not worth the bother, or that the means at their disposal are not very strong. Well, it's only spelling, after all.

Spam question.
I've suddenly starting getting a deluge of spam from loan, life insurance, companies etc.
I've unsubscribed from some, but the rate makes me think it won't make a difference.
Is there any way to see where they've got it from? Or to stop it?
Cheers

Including buying chain & cables?
I'd offer and could do it all fine until I got to the gears. Try all I can, I'm shit at indexing gears.

Get something like mail washer to bounce it.

I'm almost at the point of fitting tyres to a pair of TB14s and noticed that there are some small holes drilled in the rim not covered by the rim tape (not the spoke holes). Do I need to cover these before I get everything fitted to avoid my nice new latex tubes getting holes put in them?

Is that including all the parts or just labour?

Is it actually impossible to find a headset for a straight 44mm headtube and 1.125-1.5" steerer in green?
Chris King have an InSet 7 coming out in limited edition matte emerald, but there's something like a 3 month wait for them. Tune supposedly have the Babo, but they say they don't have the parts (for any colour) and their planning department are unable to predict when they'll beging manufacturing them again.

Does that work with Hotmail etc? Rather than just desktop email programs like Outlook? -

Thread experts: I've a frame with a built in cantilever hanger that doesn't accept either an M6 (too big) or an M5 (too small) bolt. The M5 does thread in, but there's play and will probably strip in use, I reckon.
Anyone care to hazard a guess at what thread I'm looking for?

Got a turbo trainer?
Stick the bike on there, much easier than on a workstand.
It's the only reason I have a turbo. :)

Nope, unless £85 is the labour, then you can shop around, some shop do it for £70, some even £60.
Real question is, are you happy to leave your bike with that shop?

Anyone care to hazard a guess at what thread I'm looking for?I can't tell you what to look for, but what you're probably looking at is a badly worn M5 thread. The best fit for something with a pitch close to 0.8mm and a diameter between 5 and 6 would be 7/32"×32TPI ME, and you could probably tap out an M5×0.8 female to that size quite successfully, as the flank angle is close enough and the pitch error is <1%

Yeh Im happy - but I see your point.
I'll shop around.
