Thanks, annoyingly neither my current shoes, nor the empires that I've been looking at have a central screw hole to fit the memory bit.
Weren't there also some cleats that had a split between the front hole and the two rear holes?
If not I'll just dig out my sharpie.

My cycling sunnies have very small bubbles/bumps on the lenses. Is there any way to fix them? There appears to be a very thin film on both sides, are they what provides the UV protection/photochromic business? Am tempted to scratch them off but I fear ending up with a clear piece of plastic...

I'm supposed to be cycling up an Alp tomorrow at 7am.
I'm currently on my 5th Weissbier.
Should I have a 6th?
Or switch to schnapps?

I have a broken lock nut on a Campagnolo 1970s (or around that) track hub, few replacement are available on eBay but don't specify "track" or tpi... Are road axles smaller in diameter than track on axles from that era and should I seek specific track lock nut?
Thanks!
Edit: further research on les internet seems to indicate both are 10mm x 26tpi so I should be safe if not specified...

Skip the ride and drink more Weißbier. :)

Relevantly, I went past this today: http://www.hotelschick.tirol
Was hoping for a grammatical error on the menu outside, but alas it was all in some forrun language or other so I couldn't tell.

Have another beer. Unless the Alp is the Sustenpass. In that case, Schnapps until you're hospitalised.

I don't know if this is any help, but I've used them a few times and have always been good https://www.imagescotland.com/

Judging from the web-site, they seem to have a tenuous grasp of German comma rules, but it seems fine otherwise.

Ah, the good old Rechtschreibreform.
-
• #82892
I would never appeal to that as any authority. :) (I've always avoided learning the 'reforms', as initial reading suggested they were almost all total nonsense. Most have been taken back since 1996 and confusion reigns everywhere in Germany, with lots of publishers simply using their own take on the rules, and as far as I know, following this unmitigated disaster, there is currently no recognised authority on German spelling.)

Yes, they're not seen as authoritative at all. (I don't envy them their task of unpicking all this nonsense.)

Cross post from the Owning Your Own Home thread;
Armchair and Real solicitor hive mind advice required.
From previous posts, you might recall I am looking to extend the lease on my flat this year. After 25th March, I am into the last full year of 80 years unexpired which is the last year before the cost of extending becomes exponentially greater.
I am not looking to buy a share of the freehold before anyone suggests that.
I was weighing up the informal approach versus the statutory approach. I have gone for the former initially, as the latter would need me to wait until August and could cost more money (additional costs).
The freeholder's solicitor has come back to say they are prepared to offer an additional 90 years, at the same terms, for £5k.
I think this is a good deal because;
My tentative budget for the statutory extension is/was £10k
The statutory extension would also be 90 years
There has been no mention (so far) of any other costs
£5k is at the lower end of any lease extension calculators I have tried
The existing terms are what were on the lease when I bought less than two years ago so my assumption is that if they were good enough for our solicitors to OK at the time of purchase, they should still be good less than 2 years on.How naive is any of the above?

You need advice on what the premium would be if you went down the statutory route. If the answer is 'about 5k or more' then go for it. But without proper valuation advice, you can't assess how good that offer is. Bear in mind that if you go down the statutory route the rent gets reduced to a nominal peppercorn rent, and I can't see any reference to rent in the proposed terms. A small amount every year for 170 years ends up being worth quite a lot when capitalised in advance.

All of the calculators I have used online with the value of the property set at the sale price in 2015 give a range of £5k to £8k for the premium. Not scientific, I concede that but the value of our flat has gone up quite a bit in that time and I am pretty confident that this is a low figure.
Our ground rent is £100 a year and we don't have any service charges so getting rid of it would only really be an admin saving more than anything (have to pay by cheque once a year). If the letter/offer makes no reference to rent I will ask that at the very least it is frozen at the current rate. I will not be paying it for 170 years.
Thanks for the response and advice, I really appreciate being able to write this out.

Mattresses.. christ is buying one confusing.
I inherited an ikea mattress (probably only 25-30cm thick) a few years ago and since then have got worse and worse back problems.
Gf now staying at mine more also says she feels sore after sleeping on it.
I believe its just to firm, it has very little give in it therefore it doesnt feel supportive,
Anyone have experiences with the big online only brands, casper, eve, leesa etc? They get good reviews but i fear being all foam mattresses like my ikea one theyre not that different

Don't they all offer pretty cast-iron guarantees?

Yep.
Ritchey echelon are look-compatible (apparently, I haven't personally tested) and have/had a split cleat. And there's a VP components split cleat too

I think you confused Shimano with Campagnolo.
Daytona anyone? Maybe Centaur? How about oh yes, Mirage?
