  • Any alternatives to K Edge chain catcher for less than £26?

  • EEI beat me too it.. :-)

  • How much difference would I notice if I went from 42-16 (69") to 42-17 (65").

I spend so much time commuting in London that I was thinking of shrinking my ratio down. I want to take some of the grind out of my stop-start commute. Would adding the extra tooth give me a new spring off the line?

  • Are you a spinner or a masher? If the former, then you'll love it. If the latter, you'll have some empathy with a washing machine as you spin faster.

Token do one that is half the price of the K Edge one. What isn't clear is if it's half as good or not.

What size seatpost do you have? (I may have a K Edge one spare that could fit).

  • spin FTW

  • I'm not a spinner. I know that, for instance, on the TNRC I often can't keep up with people on smaller ratio's than myself. It sounds like I would definitely be able to tell that it is spinnier, so I think I'll go the one tooth.

I should have phrased my question differently: Will one tooth make a big enough difference to notice or should I go two? And it sounds like one will be plenty.

  • Borrow a geared bike and try it.

It's for the S2 so need one that fastens to braze on derailleur not a clamp on one.. the Token one looks like exactly the kind of cheap copy I was after :)

  • Is this a joke? what do u reckon?

  • if it isn't you've only lost the price of a pint

  • I bought them, cheers

  • Ha ha!

  • there is a thread about this i'm sure but, I'm going to try conti tyres for the first time on my fixie skidder, which ones would people recommend?

  • gatorskin hardshells

  • Oversized track bars. What choice? Deda pista and Cinelli Pista. Anything else?

  • Pro Vibe 7S if you can get them, i've got some i could be tempted to part with.

  • Is it possible to grind off the graphics?

  • Pro Vibe 7S if you can get them,

In stock at £48.80 at Fatbirds

I like the road bars, but I don't know what the track version does that the Deda doesn't do for 25% less

  • I tried to but it takes off the anodization, I ened up using a black marker on them.

  • i think you can remove anodisation with sodium hydroxide. But then you'd be left with just the oxide which isn't a great looking surface.

re-reading maybe you don't wanna take off the anodisation

  • Deda and Pro graphics are screen printed, should come off with acetone. The logos on my Deda Pista bars have worn off just through normal wear and tear, and my track bike hardly gets ridden a lot.

I did try acetone but it didn't work, don't ever use them should probably sell them.

  • There is also Deda Velocita
