  • Condor used to have their frames built in Italy, by Billato by all accounts, but they had supply issues and may have changed their supplier by now. I very much doubt there is any company left in the UK who could build the breadth and quantity of frames that Condor require.

  • Why won't this fucking headache stop!

  • I'm just trying to fix a wheel for a mate. It has a split nipple. Its a 24h front Vuelta Chromelite with 4.5mm bladed spokes. I can't find out which gauge nipple to replace it with. The spokes are manufactured by Alpina and are definitely larger than 2mm at the business end ( that is the largest nipple I've tried on it).

I got my micrometer out and I'm getting a reading of 2.30mm just next to the thread and exactly 2.5mm on the actual spoke thread.

What gauge spoke/nipple am I dealing with here? I can find 2.3mm and 2.5mm online...

    Cheers

  • ^^ I've got a persistent tension headache from the background stress from job hunting.

I've had them due to caffeine withdrawal in the past.

How long have you had it for?

Just while I've been in work today, I have taken my glasses off and it has started going away immediately which is worrying as I cannot imagine that my eyesight has changed that much over the weekend.

Dehydrated? Had the same amount of caffeine that you normally do on a daily basis?

I prescribe 8 cans of Stella.

Jokes aside, having glasses put pressure on your nose/side of head can make tension headaches worse.

Wearing a slightly wrong prescription doesn't cause headaches. Wearing furniture on your face does, in certain circumstances.

  • Have taken a punt with 13G nipple. Only place I could find them was on a unicycle parts web site after trawling through a load of 13G nipple piercings on body modifcation sites.

  • Does anyone else get something a little similar to tinnitus after ~3 hours of fairly high paced riding?

I think it's the wind-rush over my (FA Cup style) ears.

I was wondering the other day whether ear plugs might make longer rides more pleasant, just because they'd kill the wind roar.

Let me guess- I'm on my own here, and everyone thinks I am barking.

The silicone ones that you squish into a ball and mould to your earholes might work ok because you can smooth them down once they are in, thus reducing the edges that can catch the wind. Also more comfortable than the horrible pointy foamy things.

About 400m of Carpenters is open after that some big metal gates and security guards

    Also closed are : -
The GreenWay ( 400m section crossing the A11 ) near Bow
    Several sections of canals
The whole of the NE end opf the site ( near the OLympic Village / Stratford City )
    Temple MIlls Lane

Which means that you need to do at least 1km of extra cycling to get around the site everytime you need to get from Stratford to anywhere North or West of the park
I doubt much of this will open until after the Olympics have finished
