No, they are really fucking expensive.

You're doing it wrong.

does this look rideable? carbon/23s?
If they can get a Google Smart Car down that road, you should be OK.

no electric heating is cheap to run unless you have an economy 7 or similar tariff. and with them you can only heat at night cheaply with storage heaters etc
Note, the use of the term cheap is a relative one as nothing is cheap anymore. Energy suppliers are taking the piss these days
This.
All portable heaters are shocking. Oil filled slightly less shocking than fan heaters: You may as well make a fire with crisp fivers as an alternative heat source.
Avoid if you can.

I've heard people speaking about the old Specialized Trispoke and the new Specialized Trispoke.
What are the differences and how can I tell them apart?

One has three blades and the other has 2+1 blades.

What is a scone, bread, biscuit or cake?
None of the above. A scone is baked nostalgia; a savoury memory; a risen edifice to times gone by. An illusion, several times over.

they got progressively lighter as the years went on, and then HED made them lighter still as well as offering a deeper option. maybe. I don't know what I'm talking about.
this might help (cursory googling)

No, a scone is a promise made crumble, a tease, a come-on, an ingenue in lingerie sprawling on the chaise-longue of appetite.

Cheers Tom. That is pretty much my understanding too.
I've seen some chatter saying that the Specialized version became lighter over the years after its launch in 1989. I've seen some with Specialized text decals and others with logo decals. I wondered whether the logo ones were newer or better.
I'm very surprised we haven't heard from MDCC on this one...maybe he's riding his bike!

Friends of mine have just thrown out my mountain bike F&F in a house move before i had a chance to collect it. They sent it to the Southwark council Manor Park recycling place near E&C. Has anyone ever been there and do you think i have any chance of them letting me come in to try recover it (it was dumped late last week)?
EDIT: Just been down. Crushed n compacted. Fuuuuuuuu
You should still ask for it. I'd love to own a compacted bicycle.

I will never eat my mother's scones again.

All reported for ruining the pastry for the rest of working class.

No, I was doing my day job, which doesn't just mean sitting at a different computer wasting my time on LFGSS unlike you lot.
There are several iterations of the hubs with the Specialized-DuPont-Hed wheel, most importantly with the freehub body. Any marginal improvements in the fibre/matrix/lay-up can be ignored, you don't buy a Hed3 if you're a weight weenie.

Hey...some of us are the great unwashed and jobless...
I'm not really concerned about weight (as shown on suggest a rim thread you just posted on). I just wanted to know whether there are variances in quality or performance according to the age of the wheel so that I can take a view on how much to pay for one second hand.
I've seen them go for £100 in poor condition and £120 to £250 in good condition. I've been offered one for £200 in pretty good condition and I wanted to get an idea of whether that is a fair price or not particularly in relation to the question of whether all Spesh Trispokes are created equal.

If it's really 'a few mm' you can stick a BB spacer or singlespeed conversion kit spacer behind the sprocket. They are available in 1mm increments from 1mm upwards. If you want something with a wide foot, try Trialtech, nicely made sprockets with a 10mm base

Condition is much more important than age. If it's straight, free running and cosmetically tidy, £200 is fair. Getting a good one for a lot less than that can be considered a good deal. All assuming we're talking about a clincher. Tubulars tend to fetch less just because there is more supply and less demand.

Strange that the sprocket's too narrow. I've only ever seen this on cheap shit sprockets. Dura-ace sprocket's aren't that expensive.
BB spacers also fit
edit: ^^ bah I was doing some research, then started drooling over Di2

Thank you very much indeed. I'd give you more rep but I need to spread around etc...
It is straight, round and cosmetically ok although the current owner has removed the specialized decals which have left themselves shadowed into the lacquer. This is ugly but I'm sure I can get replacement decals or just live with it.
Thanks again.

Rumour today is Di2 definitely going 11 speed for 2013, changing cabling to be compatible with Ultegra Di2 for mix and match and disc brakes reservoir thingies integrated into DA Di2 shifters. ABS anybody?

Sprocket is actually quite nice, think it's pretty old, doesn't feel cheap. Think it may be more the cheap quando hub it's going onto. Think the inadequacy is between 2-3mm so going to plump fopr a 2.5 mm spacer and go from there.
Just to be sure, would one of these be suitable?

You could buy them but someone on here should have one they can post to you. Anyone who's replaced their hollowtech2 style BB should have some as you get a new set with a new BB. I tried getting some on here as I need a full set for the Mtb build but struggle to get anyone to send them to me.

Meh, £1.99 is not gonna be that much more than postage, and when you take into account the persons time I might as well just order through crc.
Doesn't get served with cream.
