Definitely! I assume it was damaged in the post though, very poor effort if they sent it out like that

Yes, that's gonna affect the braking

Sorry for spamming this thread but I have many questions.
Since when has this thread been for asking questions, dammit! :)

This.
All portable heaters are shocking. Oil filled slightly less shocking than fan heaters: You may as well make a fire with crisp fivers as an alternative heat source.
Avoid if you can.
I have an oil heater which works very well for me, but yes, it's expensive.
Alternatively, there'll be a nice double-glazing salesman round your house again soon. :)

I'm glad that this time you're accepting responsibility for anything beyond unwanted injuries or pregnancies. Oh, and 'confitions' isn't going to get you off the hook of liability, either. :)

Even more reason to give them an earful. That's some pretty crappy QC. Let us know how you get on

Of all the options for off the shelf electric heating the oil filled radiator is probably best in terms of providing a more stable form of heat due to the slower way it heats up and cools down. With a fan or simple panel heater I find the temperature varies quite noticably as the thermostat switches them off and on. With the fan heater you've also got the added nuisance of the noise.

SO my question - I'm looking to sell this frame & forks - what would be a reasonable price for me to pitch in at?

Rang Planet X - disinterest youth on end of phone - have filled in the returns form (in google docs!) and now have to take this thing to the post office and send back at my own expense then email them a copy of the reciept. The annoying thing is, there are only 2 of these fairly unusual (700c front disc wheel) wheels in stock, I've had one so that leaves 1 more - it'll be sods law that someone will now go and buy it
I'm going to email them all the pics and explain the situation and ask them to keep the other one aside for me.
here's hoping.

I agree, I used to have a fan heater and hated it.
I think it's just hotting up.

And if for some reason they are totally sold out they could provide you with a new dp18 and have it rebuilt at their cost

Clefty I would discuss the postage costs as it was sent out damaged.

If you don't already have double glazing, putting up temporary double glazing film like this is well worth the effort, as is tackling drafts with that foam or rubber strip stuff.

What about the London Shop?
Which London shop? I thought that had closed..
Anyway I've sent it back now, at the cost of £12, sent them all the pics, and proof of postage and explained how I was hoping to be building my new bike (that I also bought from them) on my day off today, rather than returning their faulty wheel. Will hopefully update shortly.

Friday 21st October 2011 London's famous 'The Grosvenor' will play host to the world's greatest battle of the bands*: Realengers Vs. Fakengers
In the battered and blue corner, reppin' for London's courier community, will be Ragworm... In the bloodied but unbowed corner, giving their hearts and souls for London's Twats-on-Fixies community, will be Rikki Fredo & The Fabulous Fucktones... This will be a battle of titanically epic proportions... all proceeds to the LCEF.
Darkness is back, whether you like it or not...
