NotRobot - selling on basschat now costs £7 for a one-off advert or £20 for an unlimited year's worth. Since musicradar went down thefretboard.co.uk has tried to take over though it hasn't got the numbers. It might be worth trying a talkbass.com ad with FS: UK in the subject line... other than that, gumtree's bony finger beckons.
greenhell, you need this for our other new project that you don't know about yet...

Wow! WTF? I used to be on basschat quite a bit, in fact it's where I bought two of my amps, sold a cab, bought two basses and sold a bass... Never had to pay a penny. What an old dog's arsehole.
Could try finnbass.com?

I'm gigging with my "little Guild" at the King Charles I in King's Cross tonight if anyone fancies some clanking alt-country and noir-ish folk with their pint and pork scratchings.
Going to have to strap up my mangled hand after Friday's mauling. I have cleaned the blood off my guitar though.

Cheers for the trade tips, don't mind spending £7 if it means a decent sale or swap.
Last question; I know the whole thing is excessive anyway as the pedal goes for silly money on ebay (between 500-650) - I for that price I should be asking for a US jazz right? Or would a MX be more suitable?
Good luck for the gig dooks - I can't come as I'm practicing tonight. And I live miles away. Genre sounds interesting though...

Plenty of recommendations for good repairers upthread. Just scroll back a page or two. Must be honest I don't know of any out east though.
Also, how on earth do you crack a Tele?
Cheers, I'll have a look.
I'm also curious about how this tele became cracked?!
I'm not 100% sure it's cracked but the lacquer is cracked around the neck pocket and on the back in a line from the neck plate to the string ferrules. The reason I don't know about the wood itself, is that there is a veneer front and back (giving the impression of a one-piece body) and it doesn't seem inconceivable that this is flexible enough to not reflect the underlying wood.
I caused this 'crack' by dropping/throwing it on the floor whilst furiously drunk at the end of a set... Not so smart.

Do you definitely want a fender? There are loads of very decent fender copies out there which might be better quality, and can be a better deal second hand. I'm talking about hand built, small companies, not mass produced stuff. I'm sure if you put an add on bass chat many will be offered to you.

I'm only think of really expensive ones at the moment, celinder, overwater, sei, sadowsky, having a look on the bass chat lists…
This is pretty awesome if you want to try a graphite neck

And this is only £300

It seems my job on this thread is to search bass chat classifieds for others. Maybe I need to find a reason to buy more guitars.

I almost bought one of those for the Groovies band... Too pricey, bought a delicious 3/4 scale Jazz instead...
Wonderful instrument, although it did let me down in Paris one time... Had to play on a borrowed full scale jobbie...
My fingers were fucked for weeks... I am a pussy...
