Ha!
Better warn your finance department in advance, I can eat a lot of steak.
-
• #878
No, I can eat a lot of steak. You can try to eat a lot of steak.
Anyway.. pub.

Even funnier that you think a stubby slow twitcher from the wrong side of the world could out do me on a meat eating escapade.

Just eat each others' meat and shut the fuck up.

Your false bravado makes me laugh. The protein shakes have diluted your brain cells.

How the fuck do people race over 12 and 24 hours, defies belief, i found doing a 50 hard, mentally not just physically
I have ridden one 12. That was in 1987 and I don't think I've fully recovered yet.
I've also daydreamed about riding 24's, but after helping clubmates who were competing I completely gave up the idea. It wasn't just that my rider was suffering, it was the sight of the real hard men (including the eventual winner) who were on their knees. Around 6 am seemed to be the low point for most.
A 12 is a different proposition though, and its quite common to see the stronger riders fighting it out aggressively on the finishing circuit. It's often said that time trialling is boring for spectators - I'd say this is not true at the finish of a half day race.

Ms Romero turned up!
She did a 59.something
I did a 1.06 54
Sporting course apparently and very windy
-

^good work. I've never ridden any better than a 59 something on that course, and generally come in more around the 1.03 to 1.06 region. The wind can be so demoralising on the first half of the return, draining all your energy before the lumpy bits in the last 5 miles.
Only ever done it fixed though, and the one time I tried aerobars, I didn't go any better. Not a proper tester, clearly :/

Yeah, the wind was weird, noticed and found it hard to control the deep front wheel i had(Planet x 82) at times.
Thought i'd have tail wind coming back but it just seemed to be cross.
Nice course though, be good when its warmer

It's all about what you enjoy looking at.
I've had a handful of people seem excited to watch me on a TT, usually because of overspinning an 85GI and a couple of times when I've been leapfrogging another rider on the back stretch when they've been trying to workout who will break first. Usually me.

I'm in a state of high excitment. I have just heard that Mrs S's new bike will be ready for collection next week. This has been my little pet project over the last five months. Can't wait to see it for the first time.

For Sale: Planet-X TT bike aka WLC 25 TT HCC113
Almost a minute slower using a TT bike on the same course I did last year. And last year I stopped at traffic lights mid-race! Apart from not having a BMMF cheersquad the rest of the time lost was poor pacing (I need my electronics), poor warmup (I need my stretching) and poor winter (yeah, I'm looking at you ICE!). -

It was only March last year when I did 1:03 on a road bike, stopping for lights. :S
I tell you what though.. by the time the season has finished I'll have stop making stupid mistakes and will have some good training in my legs :)
-
• #896
Maybe you need to lay off the beer?
-
• #897
Doubt it.
-
• #898
Just use the early season events as training, relax and don't put too much pressure on yourself.
Would stop drinking though
-
• #899
If I stop drinking then I'll have very limited scope for excuses. :)

Steak? I prefer burgers. But if you want to up it to steak then let's do Gaucho or something.. :)
Even if I lose I like that place so much I'd be happy to go (and then expense it just to annoy you).
