She's an Olympian.. I should bloody hope so!
My tax dollar (yes, dollar, shutit) is going towards her beating my countrywomen.. I must find a way around this.

But, Beryl Burton's 10mi record was 21:25 which stood for 20 years!

It's worth bearing in mind that back in 2007, Rebecca had only just taken up cycling and was concentrating on the pursuit. If she is now serious about riding the Olympic TT in 2012, and bearing in mind that we all improve in TTs for the first 5 years even without getting any fitter, I'd expect to see her putting in some pretty quick times, although getting competition records is always a matter of going to the fast courses every week to try to catch a float day, and I doubt whether such things are a key target for her at this stage.

I did bear that in mind.. and chose to leave it out of post. Reps Beryl

Do you think? Apparently it's a quickish course if it's the one i've been told about and it's supposed to be warm on sunday, well 11c
Will let you know

Looks like she's using SRM Power Cranks in that picture but no pointy hat or shoe covers.....
guess she's all power

Guys, when pro cyclists enter events like this it's usually for testing* purposes, not necessarily to "win" or post a fast time. And as for DNSs you will see that a lot, teams like to get names down just in case as it's a good opportunity for a test, run out, whatever.
*pun intended

I'm not sure income tax is used directly to help British athletes train, in fact I'm positive it isn't.

Put it this way, (as of Monday) we have the same boss, so if you are paying for GB athletes you are also paying my wages. I bet that makes you feel good huh?

If it's the E2, that's fast, but most of their events are on the E1/25b, which is a little more sporting.

It's on the E1/25b :(
-
• #872
I prefer it. The E2 is boring, and on busier (and grimmer) roads.

I was going to go back and make that edit, but I thought it could be taken as read.

I'll be getting that back in the form of a burger and chips when we smoke you in 2012 though so I'm not too bothered.

Our bet is on the track, but I am prepared to go with the Womens TT too.Sure am looking forward to my two 12oz steaks!
The Romero used to turn out to our evening 10s fairly frequently, e.g. http://www.maidenheadcc.org.uk/results.2007/tt070607.htm
