It should be 'mashtini', of course. Tsk.

  • SDG make a great saddle - Ti-Fly C. nice padding quite light, and great graphics/looks, use it on all my bikes.

  • would like to try the best saddle to fit my fixie. got a 70s R531 royal blue frame and at the moment retro tyres, was thinking a brooks saddle (black B17) could fit but they're a bit expensive, not sure what would be appropriate....

    any suggestions?

  • The hunt for a saddle that really fits me continues, have a couple that are ok, but nothing that really works for longer rides. Tried an Arione, but a bit narrow.

Does anyone have a spare Specialized toupe in a wide-ish size that I can borrow to try out?

  • Not that it helps anyone but me, but I recently got a knock-off concor and its awesome, first saddle I've tried (including women-specific ones) that is truly comfy over short and long distance

  • yeah I've heard they're really comfy.. I dunno though.. I like modern looking saddles and Concors always look like I'd be moving around loads on them!

  • dan, in that case, try out the Fizik Aliante, a very popular saddle as well as the cheap but well loved Charge Spoon/Knife (knife is just thinner, look more racey).

also I think you should stop worrying about the appearance of certain saddle and choose the one that give you the ulimate comfort regardless.

  • My new saddle, b17 titanium.... best saddle ever :)

    thanks Ed :)

It's not just an aesthetics thing, I've tried various different Turbo's and Rolls, but they never really worked for me... I got a spoon saddle, which is good for anything under 50 miles, but the lack of flex in the sides ends up hurting my groin. I was gutted when an Arione didnt work out for me as the wingflex thing solves that poroblem.

I've not tried the Aliante, though at about 150 for the non-cheap one I'd have to be able to test ride it — I have ridden a Gobi on one MTB ride, when I borrowed Neil Dammit's Cannondale and that was quite comfy, but it coud be to do with the riding position...

    glad you like it

tried lowering your saddle a tiny bits?

  • tried lowering your saddle a tiny bits?

yup— up, down, back, forwards .. done it all. Starting to drive me mad.

  • Also for those who find the B17 comfortable/alright, you'll love the Selle An-atomica, much better than a Brooks;

  • If anyone wants a racing saddle give me a shout.

I have all of these for sale:

    Arione K1 - £200 BNIB
    Arione CX Carbon (white/blue) - £100
    Selle Italia SLR C64 - £150
Selle San Marco Zoncolan Carbon FX (white) - £100

  • dovvles

could i possibly do a try before i buy on a couple of these?

  • You can try the K1 or the C64, the others are white and will mark if even looked at the wrong way.

  • The K1 won't be BNIB then.. just sayin'

  • True. It is right this second now though.

  • curse, anyone got an antares I could try? Think they might be the solution to my problem

The Aliante is worth trying as ED says. If you want a combination of wide support without inner thigh rubbing. Something like the San Marco SKN could be worth a shot.

  • I have Antares 00, thought the same. Didn't work. Selling it this afternoon.
