I should say that I'm after a synthetic saddle to replace it, a leather one is to much work on this bike

Have a look at the Charge Pan. Like the Charge Spoon, it's better for sit-up than forward posture and it's wider than the Spoon, nearly as wide as the B17. Does have a leather upper but it's nothing like a Brooks, so shouldn't be a worry.

Romin looks to be just as thin or am I wrong?
There's the gel version of the Romin.

Actually picked one up today :)
Was advised to go a size up on the romin compared to the toupe.. so got a 155.. hopefully this works better :)

C17?
Tempted, is anyone doing trials of it? I wouldn't like to buy blind, too expensive

That looks pretty good actually. I don't like saddles like the spoon, but that looks flatter.

Cadence Performance, down at Crystal Palace, and Condor, up by Kings X, both do saddle try-outs.
The Pan is quite different to the Spoon. The Cambium - which I have on one of my bikes - is more comfortable than a leather Brooks (at least, from the start) but it is still a racing saddle shape (more like the Charge Bucket or Selle Turbo) rather than a sit-up friendly shape.

Does anyone have Arione R3? What is the difference between that and standard arione? I can see it has similar shell material as Kurve and is lighter but what else? Will it/does it flex like Kurve?

Anyone ever been for one of those arse-measuring/saddle fitting things?
I just can't seem to find a comfortable saddle at all. -

My LBS has a demo version - think Brooks have been pretty on it getting demo saddles into most stockists. My mrs demo'ed one and was sold.

I just can't seem to find a comfortable saddle at all.I took my girlfriend at cyclefit in Covent Garden and they did the pressure mapping. Good stuff, problem solved.

And recently I bought this saddle, slr superflow 140, it has been suggested by the guys in CF again for my large ischial bones with high pelvic rotation...
Real comfy! -

Not cheap.
Was it worth it?
I've stopped growing now so it might be the time to do it. Especially if I can sort bike fit, saddle and shoe hot spots all in one hit. -

Missus had an interesting experience saddle hunting recently.
ALL top independent London shops denied women specific test saddles saying basically its not worth keeping them. Eventually someone suggested Specialized concept store; so she went there and the manager (Donna? possibly on here; i think) helped her get the shape she will be comfortable with and the required width. They have a 30 day return policy (even used) so you can test as many shapes and widths as you want.
She is very happy with the purchase and find it extremely comfortable. I am 70% sure that its Ruby something. Even she had Charge Ladle before.

Donna is the manager, yep. Yeah, I had a really good experience in the Covent Garden store. I got a Romin with the 30 day return policy, though I didn't need to return it because Romin's are fucking awesome.

Are there any cheap alternatives to Fizik Ariones?
I've got one and i'ts super comfy, but I'm not comfortable putting a £70 Saddle on my polobike... -

Ta!
Any suggestions for saddles to look out for to replace a B17? Relatively cheap, wide, as my sit bones are wide anyway, and the bike is 'sit up and beg'. I'm not getting on with my brooks, it doesn't offer enough support any more, no matter how much I tension it.
