So I think I've found the best saddle for my arse/gooch, so far anyway. Specialized Romin seems to do the trick.
I've got a 143 but think a 155 might be even better. Willing to swap/PX either of them for something from my sale thread - lots of saddles available and feel free to make me an offer!

I have a 168mm black Romin Expert but am after the same in 155mm. We need a saddles trade thread!

168?! I thought 155 was the widest?

A while back I had a Romin snap at the narrowest part of the saddle, right at the front of the cut out. It was replaced without hassle. Today I've just dropped off the replacement for snapping in the same place, but the opposite side.
/CSB.

Common fault, I had one do that. Dunno if the newer ones are less susceptible.

Weird, was just about to pull the trigger on either a Romin or Toupe.

i hope I'm too skinny to brake it, tomorrow will say how I compare romin to flite 90

I'd still recommend a Romin, Toupe did terrible things to my gooch. Spec Romin is the best saddle I've found so far. Although being perched on the completely solid nose of it for track the other week didn't do good things to my gooch.

Yeah, I got a warranty replacement and I still run a Romin on my road bike. I like them. And Spesh retailers generally do replace them if / when they break. I just wish they were as sturdy as San Marco saddles are. I'd happily sacrifice 50g of extra weight for a stronger shell.

If you are prepared to pay the shipping etc, Selle Anatomica are on offer for a very reasonable $99 here:

Has anyone tried Fizik Kurve Snake ??
I have the chance to get an ex-display Kurve Snake.I am a fun of the Arione's/ Tundra's long flat surface. Fizik seem to suggest that Kurve Snake is quite similar. From the pics it does not seem as flat though/ it seems more "shaped".
Apologies Kurve Snake has been discussed before here.

Buy Kurve Snake to try out, return it and buy the ex-display one if you liked it.
-
• #1039
That does sound like a great plan!
I am not in the UK though so that would involve quite a bit of shipping and will take more or less a month! -
• #1040
No local bike shop to try it out?
-
• #1041
No, small market (Cyprus) means that Fizik distributor only imports after customer orderds.
He only has a couple of Arione CXs in stock now !!! -
• #1042
The new Fizik saddle looks interesting, to say the least. Apparently it is their solution to the Pro riders asking for a more classic saddle shape.
-
• #1043
Probably to discourage them from using other manufacturer's saddle.
-
• #1044
That looks intensely uncomfortable.
-
• #1045
Some times looks deceive !
I would have never thought that my Brooks Swallow would be so comfortable just by looking at it !
-
• #1046
That actually looks like it could be really good, top seems a bit rounded for my liking though.
-
• #1047
I think that's quite a nice looking saddle. Without the stripes.
-
• #1048
TBH I think I'm going to buy one - Antares is too wide at the back and Arione just doesn't do it for me.
-
• #1049
I do like the look of that.

looks fucking uncomfortable
Thanks Ed, I knew that but have had enough of the stitching they use. I understand the Scoop doesn't have this...
