If you can fit 2.4 I have a set of very lightly used Mountain Kings (protection version) I'm too lazy to clean enough to pass NZ biosecurity... They were set up tubeless fine.

I don't know if I can, I'll have a look. Do you think they fit the remit?

I was originally going to buy a pair of Ardents or Ardent/Ikon combo but it was during the great Maxxis-drought at the end of 2015 or so.
I was after an all round tyre with ok grip for Peaks/South Pennines riding (gravel to bog and back every 10 minutes). If I wasn't moving I'd probably stick an x-king on the back towards the end of spring for something a little faster rolling and keep matchy logos.
I'm sure someone can probably suggest a better single all-round tyre.

Thanks for the offer but I think 2.4" is going to be too tight for mud clearance.

How much do you want for them? <strike/) after 29s -

I'm having a good experience so far with a pair of Bontrager XR4 in 2.35" flavour (and other Bontrager tyres in general). They come in a 2.2 also and are true to size. You could put an XR3 on the back for the fast rollings, I plan to do so myself when the slop goes

Didn't look like a 'built' trail? Anything in mature coniferous woodland is going to be destroyed by felling so it's not exactly a crime of Brexit promotions is it?
-

Plenty of time to plan for this, then!

If by plan you mean negotiate time off and expenditure with wife then it's going to be quite tight.

I was thinking more in terms of purchasing a suitable beic

Much as I would like an Sworks Fatboy, it'll have to be the race HT.

Any suggestions for a cheap-ish bar with a bit more backsweep than usual? Seen the Fu Manchu ones people are buying, but I'm looking for something a little less odd. On One Fleegle looks like it would do the job but not available in 31.8...what else is out there?
-
• #9715
The fleegle certainly does come in 31.8.... Unless they are sold out?
-
• #9716
Can't find it currently so must be I guess.
The Salsa Bend 2 looks great but £90 makes me sad

Anyone know what the little blue water sprayer Muc-Off use to clean bikes at races? My bike's covered in yesterday's road grit and I'm thinking about getting one since no citycunt seems to have outside hoses in this country.

Haven't seen it but at a guess if it's a pressure washer type thing...it could be a mobi?
small. Blue. Cleans bikes etc

Looks like this one: http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/tools/bike-cleaning/product/review-mobi-washer-mobi-v-17-11-35580/
Only gets 2* though
-
• #9721
Yeah. We have one. The review is correct in that they are not industrial strength durability and if you fill the tank full it leaks.
That said, they do the job if you are careful with them and won't blow the grease out of your bearings - if you need to wreck your bike hit up the local garage and use their pressure washer.

You could try something like this at a fraction of the cost.
http://www.diy.com/departments/verve-pressure-sprayer-5l/191247_BQ.prdI used the smaller version when racing. They dont work well on thick claggy mud and are slower than a pressure washer, but cheap and get the job done, and don't ruin bearings.
A brush and a sprayer and job done. -

Anyone know of good/cheap places to get Rock Shox fork servicing kits and Hayes bleed kits? Thanks
-
• #9724
The internet, probably. Check out epic bleed solutions for bleed kits.
Soho Bikes / SBC might be able to sell you this stuff over the counter.

The stock bar on the Genesis Caribou is about halfway between a Fleegle and a Mary.
Saw a Salsa Bend 2 go for about £6 plus £6 P&P on eBay a few days ago.
LFGSS hive mind, recommend me a set of 27.5" 2.25 tyres. They need to be tubeless and I ride mixed trails, generally a bit rooty, a bit muddy natural trails. I've never done this fast rolling rear / grippy front thing so willing to try that. They will be fitted to my Genesis Latitude 20 hardtail.
