Is this a replacement for the other Jibb? Where do you ride this now?

Yeah I just moved the parts from frame to frame - I have the v1 frame in a box in my sitting room currently.
I’ve lived in Singapore since mid-24.

Any recommendations for wheels:
- XC/Bikepacking use (28 or 32h)
- 29" Boost spacing, 2.2-2.4" tyres
- Carbon or alloy
- Decent and serviceable hubs (Hope, DT, etc)
- Shimano freehub (not MS)
Obviously if anyone if selling something that aligns with the above I'm all ears..

I have a pair of the Hunt alloy wheels and I found them to be very good- well priced, reliable, just worked.

Dt swiss xm421 onto a dt 240 or hope pro 5. Just get someone to build them.

Yeah, Martin from Arkane also recommended something similar

Seconding Hunts,I've got the alloy XC wide ones. I know lots of people have problems with them, but they've been fine for me and I'm a big unit/plough into things a lot.

The freehub in my Hunt trail wides was apparently made out of cheese and exploded after a surprisingly short amount of time. Replacing them with something nicer is pretty high on my list of things to spunk my cash on this year.

They use a lot of kinlin rims which are good, not checked all the MTB models, but could probably be built better and to better hubs for similar money.

If you're going to be riding anywhere near actual mud, I'd go with Hope

I'm using Kinlin TL-29. Built up easily, seem pretty good at staying true, but do have a few dings from rocky trails in the Peak District. £££/width/weight trade off is pretty good IMO.

I don't know anything about these but seem crazy cheap for £399. MS tho

Mine came on a bike and aren't necessarily what I would've chosen if I was buying a new wheelset. I'd heard a lot of Hunt horror stories so was quite worried, but I've been riding them in all conditions for the best part of a year with no problems. A pleasant surprise!
Another budget friendly option is Scribe. I don't know what their 29er wheels are like, but I've had their 365 road wheels on my CX bike for 2 years and they've taken an absolute battering.

I'm riding Hunt Trail Wide on my Epic Evo and have no complaints so far

Interesting, I heard Pro 5 seals are not that great though.

Seem to be doing very well so far on mine. Axle deep mud and puddles, enough to destroy a set of pads in an hour, but bearings are still perfect. I think I've only changed the bearings on my Pro4s once in three years, too
-
• #29318
Yeah, also only changed Pro4s bearings with that time span. Cool, good to know.

Scribe
Scribe can get fucked too
Success!
