I have a spare cross check fork that you can borrow for your steamroller, a spare 700c wheel with a braking surface and a froggleg cantilever brake as well, although it's not particularly effective! Could fit a v brake if you have one spare.
Doable, I could steal the xtr off the DMR for a weekend. Seems like an easy option though, whereas my mind is going off on crazy Fixed steamroller with suspension and 26" front wheel fat tyre crazy tangent. Pretty certainscott hasI have a cyclocross tyre that's useable for the rear.To be totally honest I could ride the DMR if I put a different saddle & new seatpost on it but it wouldn't be the nicest thing for any uphills or distance.
Like I say, give me a day and I'll tell you if I can definitely come and if I need to borrow anything to make it happen.

Up for it- but not this weekend sadly- my Dad should be getting the results of his MRI so I will be down in Winchester for the weekend.
Could do next weekend?
PinkGottiMobs- I might be able to help out with a bike-lend if you accept the "you break it you bought it" school of lending?

Cool. Best of luck to your Dad.

I'm definitely out I'm afraid. Totally failed to have time to butcher a bike together.
-
• #259
Fair enough - it sounded like a mission! Next time dude!
-
• #260
I'll be sorting the bike out for something more useable in the very near future. Will be good to go for the next time round.
-
• #261
Never mind. I'm sure I'll crash on your behalf, just hopefully not as spectacularly as a "Object crash™".
-
• #262
too bad you cant make it, object. grab scot's full sus bmx ;p
btw, where are we mtb'ing?
-
• #263
Surrey? haa! somewhere near dorking / Leith Hill / etc?
momentum has a watch with a digital compass - and the sense of direction which I lack - and an OS map. He went a few weeks back - found some new (to us) trails. less slog more singletrack. -

Fancy doing it again this Saturday?
-

Okay, so I've worked out what to do to sort out my DMR for some XC fun.
When's the next ride so I have an idea on timeframe I need to do this by? -

Happy Birthday Tommy! massive props for SS and rigidity. I need to SimplifyTFU.
I'm up for another ride soon, I need to be back 1500hrs on saturday, and have got Sunday am free.. very early start could be required.
I literally couldn't stop smiling, especially after crashing spectacularly and being unscathed... twice!
My 100% record of surprising crashes and breaking bike parts remains intact. -
• #274
agree. b'day boy's got sick handling skills on the tank. and some strength/fitness to match.
you ok after saturday's crashes, prav? first stack looked bad. you killed a tree!

I haven't been able to 'click' my neck since then, that may be a good thing.
Little bruising thats it!
Soft ground + long grass + not sticking my hands out + not landing on / near bike.
