Waterloo is better for me but being as the train times are so close it does not matter if we get on separate trains if Victoria is better for some people as anyone from Waterloo can wait 5 min at Dorking station for the Victoria lot to arrive then you can lead us out.

shut up tommy.
thanks for info MrSmith - I shall be praying for sub-zero temperatures. -

I'm happy to leaver earlier but I would personally would leave from Waterloo as I don't fancy fancy [strike] finding my way[/strike] getting lost cycling over to Clapham junction early in the morning on a fat tyre mtb.

Fuck I'm horny now.

let Momentum sort it out - he's good at that.
(inspite of the amount of work he seems to do whilst actually at work.) -
• #234
...meet 9:45 at clapham junction? jump on the first one we can..
is there a list?
1 - momentum
2 - tommy
3 - fatboyralph
4 - provenrad
Object? bring the steamroller..
Dammit?Hmm, depending on the mud situation Brakeless Surly may not be the best idea.
And the DMR will be a pain in the ass unless I make a few changes. Give me a while to ponder.Potentially I'm in if I can bastardise two bikes into one.

Dr Frankenstein I presume?
I can lend forks and/or wheel and/or v-brakes. -

I'm happy to leave earlier if that suits other people. There are the same trains an hour earlier so could meet there at 8.45 and get there an hour earlier.
By the way, I've just ordered some torches which are meant to be pretty good as mtb lights so some time in the new year I'm gonna do a half day/half night ride if anyone's interested.

0854 gets you at dork @ 0943. sounds good to me.

Very frankenstein. I'll try and work something out when I get home tomorrow.

Where is there? Waterloo, Clapham, Dorking?
Like I said I'm going from Waterloo so if your going to be catching a train at clapham for 9:45 I'll need to be at Waterloo for 08:24 train yes?

• #241
just set out a time for a meet at dorking station. sounds like everyone's ok for an early start. 0930-1000 @ dorking or earlier?

Sorry for that totally crap bit of organising. Let's aim for the train that leaves Waterloo at 0854, Clapham Junction at 0903 and gets to Dorking at 0943. People can meet on the train or at Dorking and there's a train from Victoria which gets into Dorking 3 minutes later. I'll try and meet Provenrad at Clapham because I get lonely on the train in my own and we'll try and meet Tommy cos it's his birthday and we can't let him get sad either.

Coolio. Looking forward to it.
If all goes well with my bike & my skills I've got a idea for a ride you may be interested in one w/e.

Yep bivi / light weight tent. I reckon splitting any food / light weight cooking stuff between two or more the luggage would be minimal. We'll chat on Saturday.

Tommy, are you doing it on the tank?
Brakes fitted and functional? -

Great minds think alike! Let's chat about it on Saturday.

Brakes fitted and functional?Yep. Brakes fitted but the rear just a shitty caliper. However it locks the rear which to honest in this weather does not take much so with any luck it should be ok.
Swapped over the tyres for the originals that the bike came with, a bit more tread than the dual rails.
What's your bike plan?

Still trying to work that out.
If I use the DMR I need a seatpost with a sensible length unfortunately it's 25.8 so more than likely a 420mm USE with a shim and some sensible forks as I'm just not getting on with the suspension. Ideally some thinner tyres might be nice but the ones I have are plenty grippy I'll just be more knackered by ther end of the day. Also I need a saddle I can actually sit on for more than a mile but that'll be borrowed from either the surly or the affinity.
If I use the steamroller I need a either a fork with a disk mount so I can use the wheel and front brake from the DMR and a gripper tyre for the rear or a fork with brake bosses, a brake to put on them and a wheel with a breaking surface. I can use the polo GI though so I'm not worried about having a back brake as it locks so easily.
Which ever bike I use will be fitted with the atacs off the affinity for the day.
Either I need to do some very special tinkering in the next day or two to make monster bike or I need to go spend some money at CRC or similar.
+1 earlier actually.
Let's wait for the rest of the guys to check in though..
