  • How about a drill, a piece of dowel and a strip of wet and dry?

  • No a cordless drill, some tube or rod, a hack saw and some Emory cloth.
An adjustable reamer is obviously better

  • Bars on the radiator, shifters in the freezer.

  • Now we're talkin'!!

  • Just took this on its first outing, a nice 15 mile loop to go see my mother.

    First impressions:

As expected, the gearing is too high (48/32 - 11/32) so I have ordered a 42t chain ring to sort that out.

There is some dragging on the drivetrain somewhere that's making it a bit hard to roll/pedal and I'm getting some chain suck.

The position is nearly there, I need to sort the cockpit out... I'm thinking saddle back and nose up a little as I keep on sliding forward. Hood's need to come up a touch too.

The rack is coming off as I've built something up that will require rack and basket for commuting.

Overall its a nice feeling bike but there is some work to do to make it a little nicer.

  • Wait this isn’t a hybrid!

    (It looks v nice)

  • Nice! Do you know what the biggest tyres you can fit in there are? The clearance on the fork looks massive!

  • I recon a 50c tyre would fit. Loads of room at the CS too

  • I've found it beneficial to raise the saddle slightly, if I slide forward.

  • Riding fixed gear is hard work and it'll take my legs some getting used too.

  • Looks good! The green headset is a nice touch.

  • Yeah I feel so too. Breaks up the black and kind of goes with the decals on the chain stays

  • What’s length cranks do you take? I have a 165mm 6603 and the rings and chain guard to do the same set up amey had

  • Ahh I need 172.5. Thanks for the offer

  • Current state.

Guards fitted but they are too snug for 32s, I'll need to fit 28s.

Rack and basket is much nicer than the front one sided pannier.

Also swapped the 110mm stem for a 90mm and it fits much much nicer.

Still unsure if I'm going to keep it as 8 bikes in the house is too much and last in first out etc
