Thanks all. I have to say, I'm smitten with it already.
Wow, the Peaks is a lot more grand than my scenery. Just the local woods surprisingly close to the 'burbs of Kent.

Looks awesome. Where is it if you don't mind me asking? Looking for some routes like that.

It's called Mereworth Woods. Between Seven Mile Lane and Plaxtol. There are some bridleways through some MOD training ground, then lots of quiet double track and some single track to enjoy. Loads more great stuff to enjoy beyond Plaxtol and towards Sevenoaks. Are you vaguely in the area? Can PM you if you'd like to know more.

Ah, fair bit further out than me but near where my granddad lives. Will try to check it out one day - cheers!

Thanks for the interest but I had a queue of friends fighting over it. Its already with its new handler. I miss it already actually. Hoping the replacement isn't too far away. It has a lot to live up to.

Great thread and love the new mtb. Have been umming and aahhing about maybe getting sus forks for my 27.5+ but very hard to know which ones to go for I think. This might have decided for me!

These Manitous are great. Had some longer travel ones on a 29+ a while back which were superb. And on first impressions this 100mm B+ version feels every bit as good. Plush and controlled damping. And they've improved the 15mm thru design which was my main and only gripe of the earlier version I had previously (it was massively fussy and hard to use/adjust). Bargain price from CRC or wiggle too:

It's quite lovely. Toe overlap issues aside.
If my friend ever decides to move it along I'll let you know.

Got an email from Spooky overnight. Frank the welder (ex Yeti fame, from when Yetis were good) has finished the frame and it's off to paint this week. Excited much!? Me!?

So when I ordered it there was a choice of black or purple for the spooky. Everything else was "custom" at great extra expense. Since ordering it they've changed their policy and there are no standard colours anymore. I asked them if there would be an additional charge if I now wanted a different colour and they came straight back to say that as it wasn't painted yet I could choose any colour without incurring extra costs or if I wanted a metallic colour it would be $150 more. Result! They've been really cool through the whole process actually. Cinelli could learn a thing or two from them about customer service!
I actually really like the purple but obviously given the choice of "any colour" has got me thinking.....
For reference this is the classic Spooky purple:
