It's been sitting in my work stand ever since and the only thing remaining is to cable the gearing and change the spider on the crankset and fit the chain and chainrings. Not a lot to do but I'm up to my eyes in work and spending all of my spare time on opening a restaurant with my better half! I'll endeavour to put manners on it shortly.

Forum ride to @Nahguavkire ‘s restaurant?
-
• #154
Absolutely! It's in Bray in Ireland though so might constitute a bikepacking trip for most...
*starts build thread for restaurant *

Even better

Quoted for posturingerity.

Tell me more (I am in Blackrock)!

Ah no way! Have a search for "Double8.ie" on Instagram for updates. It's going to be a dumpling/ noodle café with wine (and hopefully beer pending license). I'm still working on better half to include a TV for cycle races though :)

Yeeesssss dumplings!

• #160
We used to run a stand in Herbert Park called Triad if you ever happened upon us?
-
• #161
Shall move this to PM, to keep the thread on S-works trend. But excited about dumplings.

Possibly for sells...
Just needs cabling and bartape and chain fitted but if I can scrape in at the end of Talbot orders I may do so...
-
• #163
Noooo!!
-
• #164
Possibly... I haven't even ridden it yet! I'll have a bit of soul searching and some sums to do to see if I how far I could get towards a Talbot Breakaway for it...
Any idea what it should be worth?
-
• #165
I knew i should have stopped following this thread.... what would you be selling ?
-
• #166
Complete build. Obviously could part out if there was sufficient interest...
This would all need to happen quickly enough to coincide with getting into the end of Matt's order book for a Talbot before he finishes up so may not happen but we shall see!

• #167
Ah man, hope to see this built up before you shift it.
Throwing in a potential dibs for the TRP's if you end up splitting, any issues with tyre clearance on them?

Size? #notsentimental
-
• #169
54cm
-
• #170
Hmm... I suspect best case scenario I'd only cover the cost of the Talbot f&f (853, not 953) with this...
What to do?
-
• #171
As good as a Talbot might be I don't think it's worth it, there's plenty of builders who can build the thing you're thinking of. Wait it out, save up and get someone else to do it. This bike is too good, you'd regret it.

Find a bargain Ritchey breakaway and keep both?
-
• #173
Build it, ride it hard, then make an informed decision.
-
• #174
You must be new here :p

I was excited about having a gravel breakaway with etap and hydro discs though ;(
I'm going to have a good think and see if there's a way I can afford to keep this and build the Talbot frame at least...
Meanwhile I'll get this finished in the next week or so. Going to drop it to Specialized/ S-Works store in Dublin as I don't trust myself to set up carbon fibre chainrings.
how nice is that !
the cranks are a fave but the seatpost looks odd
