  • Neil has shown grit and spirit Hippy could only dream off and age for age is by far the better athlete and cyclist.

Is this a round about way of saying Hippy is fat?

  • Because, he is fat, isn't he? Very very fat.

  • I would take offence in what Hippy says if he wasnt so sexy ..

  • This is all getting a bit weird / uncomfortable viewing.

    Same question...

  • With a username like that? No way...

  • Maybe they're a Bruce Willis fan.

  • Neil Matthews has had a very unfortunate tour facing challenges other riders hadn't had to deal with and yet slogged it out to the bitter end to finish the tour in incredible fashion.

None of the other riders had to deal with the heat, mechanicals, dogs? Maybe they just managed them better.

Neil has shown grit and spirit Hippy could only dream off and age for age is by far the better athlete and cyclist.

Wow. Absolutely not the spirit of the race. Or true. Hippy is both fat, and old, and still manages over 100km a day whilst consuming more kebabs per mile than anyone else.

Neil also uses the creepiest instagram filters available that make him look like he lives in a teenage boy's imagination of what it's like to be really really hard and are massively anti. I don't know if you're the man himself but between you and Hippy it's clear who the keyboard warrior is...

  • None of the other riders had to deal with the heat, mechanicals, dogs?

I think he's talking about no-one else had to deal with a such an apparently massive lack of preparation. Also not may had to deal with the consequences of overestimating ones ability quite so much.

    Tough times.

  • Hippy proved he is nails by eating icecream and drinking beer at the same time. I certainly wouldn't fuck with anyone sick enough in the head to do that. Disgusting.

  • You better not click this link then...
    hippy might like it though!

  • On a par with lemon parties, Veronica Moser and blue waffles.

    Horrendous.

  • Bet VB is now regretting unpinning this thread

  • Neil Matthews has had a very unfortunate tour

Oh no! Was this before or after he took part in the Transcontinental Race?

    #nothelping

  • Well, I was (and assuming it's still there, still am) disgusted with his/your rant against the race organisers.

What am I to apologise for exactly?

"and age for age is by far the better athlete and cyclist" - this kind of petty bullshit is definitely how you go about getting an apology, for what, saying the rider was tired, ranting and should take a time out?

More cyclists chatting about cycling. I've got a ticket if anyone fancies joining for a beer.

  • I've been following this thread for some time now and have been disgusted by some of the posts written by our resident keyboard warrior Hippy! Neil Matthews has had a very unfortunate tour facing challenges other riders hadn't had to deal with and yet slogged it out to the bitter end to finish the tour in incredible fashion. Neil has shown grit and spirit Hippy could only dream off and age for age is by far the better athlete and cyclist. I would like our resident keyboard warrior to man the f up and issue a public apology to #thelastmanstanding Neil Matthews!

Quoted in full for posterity. LOL

  • Tickets acquired

  • Would but have a prior. Are you taking your thong? (and your flip flop)

  • That thong got returned to the rightful owner, he said he was going to frame it along with his brevet card and patches.

  • Ah cool, that's nice. If you need another thong though, let me know...

    #evillaugh

  • Look, the bottom line is, a lot of what Neil said on Facebook was spot on, yet he got nothing but pelters on here. Let's look at the facts:

    • 40 miles of continuous dog attacks
    • Hot weather
    • Batteries ran out on nav
    • Stolen hat

These are things that no racer should have to put up with. Look at the trouble he had getting to the start line on time from the earlier FB post put up by WornCleat; train issues, ferry issues. The rider support was nonexistent. If he hadn't have cadged a lift off someone it'd have been game over.

By way of comparison, when Neil did his LEJOG he had a full support vehicle. This is a guy who's used to elite-level organisation. He clearly feels that on the TCR the organisation & support was mickey mouse, and I think you can all agree he has a point.
