Cool. A friend is planning a trip that way so depending where he plans to ride and how much I might tag along in April. Guessing could still be a bit chilly in places.

That lake is Piva river hydroaccumulation lake and can you start the climb to Mt. Durmitor (West side) just before the bridge (going towards Pluzine). Tara river comes from the other side of the mountain but joins (absorbs) Piva a bit up the road at the border crossing with Bosnia & Herzegovina, which is why you probably mixed the two up :).
If you like this sort of scenery, then I suggest you look into Bosnia & Herzegovina's premier ultra-distance race that I will be organising in June of 2019 (shameless plug :-D).

Ah, made the connection! You were welcoming a lot of riders through last year.
I know exactly where the durmitor turn off is! I rode up there in 2016. (There's a great view of the road up the nose of the cliff through the tunnels from the street view pic that @hippy linked above, if you scroll out slightly to flip to satellite).
Id love to ride more in Bosnia. Probably not this year but will check out your event. -

This made me dig up my old photos from tcr 4, a pretty valley indeed, as was Durmitor.
It was raining mostly when I was there, seemed to have a rather moist climate, so green up there. I bought coffee and cheese from this cabin for second breakfast, really needed it after riding in the rain since dawn and for a couple of days before that, several bivvied nights and the first breakfast being a Snickers. Good times. -

The rain had gone by the time I got there! It was hot when I started the climb but dusk when I finished it and dark by the time I got to Zabljak so I didn't see that cabin.
I hardly took any photos the whole way but I couldn't resist this view:

This is insanely good. This might finally motivate me to do something more with my card + badges than in a pile somewhere.

Hope you don't mind me posting this in here, @skinny, but more eyes on it can't be a bad thing, right?

Piva was really stunning.
I did Tara at night and it was quite eerie, could see the rocks overhanging the road and could sometimes hear fast-flowing water. Bivvied somewhere in the gorge and it was really peaceful, most pleasant place I slept out. I expect it's pretty in the daytime.
