  • He has passed through here early this morning :-). Appears to be in good position at the moment.

  • @cybernck find it surprising that you said "don't go down that road, another rider just had to turn back" and 148 still went down it.

Giving route warnings is not in the spirit of the race. Would be ok if a rider asked a random local person for advice/directions but not to give it unsolicited

  • I thought KA was moving away from this type of racing after Mikes death

That was just me drawing conclusions from him not having raced since Indypac, but may not be true!

  • Looks like race is on for third.
Rene has 13 km on Matthew falconer with 600 to go.
Id expect them both to ride through tonight to claim 3rd.
Rene's setup looked good on one of the start videos (the same one as the Brompton guy). He'd fabricated some aero luggage out of carbon fibre and made fairings for his forks.

  • Stephane is back on route but it looks like it has cost him ~ 5 hours. Still a very long way to go and it looks like he got a 'lot' of sleep last night

  • Ah OK , I couldn't remember where I had seen that . Hopefully we get to see them compete.
would be great to see all the serious hitters in one race , Kristof , James , Jesse , Sarah , Lael , Evan etc , champions league of Ultra racing !

  • I haven't said anything like what @Squaredisk suggested. I had asked him if he knew where he was going and informed him that there may be an off-road section along the way. Of course, I couldn't have been completely sure he'd go down that exact route as there are some other roads there that he could have taken too.

  • Hope his tyres hold up til the end

  • Sorry, I misunderstood and wasn't trying to get anyone in trouble! Just wondered why cap148 persisted when he may have thought there might be a tricky road ahead!

  • How...deflating

  • Epic thought, + Hippy also...

  • Those sidewalls don't look too happy either...

  • Must be crossing now. Question is whether he can win by a country.

  • Under 100 miles to go ...

  • Heat n wind n wind n heat
    Crawling forward...

  • I guess it depends what you mean by that - before Bjorn gets into Greece (~390 km) or before Bjorn gets into Albania (~60 km)?
Given Skinny is ~150 km from Meteora, probably not the latter...

  • Classic Conti sidewall wear pattern. Mine all end up looking like that but seem t hold together fine.

  • Nearly 2000km or 2Mm, not a unit anyone uses because it's stupidly far. Epic effort @7ven and scratching a good decision. You wouldn't want to do long term damage to something as crucial as your neck!

    Take a (careful) bow son!

  • Rene was on the GCN riders of the TCR vid posted a few pages back talking about his setup. Very intersting stuff.

  • Have a feeling @hippy was near Michael Wacker fir the latter stages last year too. Is that right?

  • Mine look like that and regularly fail!

  • Yes they've been close together on TABR as well, and maybe TCR 2016

  • I'm sure everyone (including myself) would do the same :-). You have a route planned months ahead of the ride - you're not going to change the decision in a heartbeat because someone who maybe doesn't know what he's talking about told you something, LOL.

  • Yeah see the previous page - they are done!
