so good!

Waiting for a cog from Velosolo still
bolt on cog? Are you taking your rear brake off?
-
• #6779
Nope.
I have build a new rear wheel with a DMR SS disc 135mm hub. 6bolt disc rotor will be mounted on a threaded converter and mounted on the SS freewheel threads and the cog on the disc rotor mount on the hub. Cheap fixed disc wheel

what is this threaded convertor ?

Can you wait for the YouTube video?

Hammered VO's will look good, but nothing wrong with the current guards!
Silver, dirty gold, looks super either way.

• #6784
Thanks. Current ones are quite knackered and I might need the stays for a different guard setup.
Anyways that's down the line -

oh! i thought something you can just buy :D

Nice.
Mind blown gif
Much safer than the screw on cog with an old bb lock ring crammed on I used last time. -
• #6788
Oh that AliExpress thing is a good solution.
-
• #6789
I did the same albeit with a surly 135mm hub but put the cog on the 6 bolt and used the cog thread for an adapter for the disc.
Best of both worlds -

The custom machined fixed disc hub is the next video, right?
-
• #6791
Sorry for thread derail but do you happen to have a picture?

I would feel vastly inferior to smirch this carefully curated content with my potato phone pictures but if I have your permission I will. Don't judge me though.
It's the same as your solution but with a more expensive surly hub. And it's the fixed version but there are freewheel versions of the new ultra hub.
I did need to add spacers to the disc bolts to clear the hub body with the threaded adapter but it now works. -
• #6797
Do it
-
• #6798
What's the benefit of this ?
-
• #6799
So, potato pictures.
I installed the adapter with the bolt on cog installed and a chainwhip.
Stupidly first without spacers, scratching up the hub body in the process.
Then installed the cog on the 6 bolt side, disc on the adapter side now with two 1mm spacers. The threading of the cog side is in the right direction for the brake forces.Benefit: being able to use bolt on cog I had lying around and the best mount option for it. It's much better then the normal counterthreaded lockring method.
Downside: hub branding is the wrong way around.
Result: double bolt on hub using an off the peg readily available hub.

Thanks!I need this but for 12x142, woe is me.
Geometry is based on his fave CAAD10. Jens Arne is an actual racer!
I will post some good photos when it is actually FIXED. Waiting for a cog from Velosolo still.
As it currently stands. I am not completely satisfied with the bars/hood interface and I have some new Velo Orange hammered mudguards I am contemplating putting on.
ALSO it isn't silver it is DIRTY GOLD says Mario Vaz
