Tricky. I've not really found reason to go above 40psi on G-ones, Gravel kings or horizons so far.
Reckon asymmetric might be a tad unnecessary on a 584 as the lacing will be stronger than a 622. Saying that...a proper wheelsmith might offer a far wiser view.
Can the Isen clear 47mm? -

Nope so no wtb horizon as per link in my previous post.

22's
Firm believer in weight saving at the wheels. Gravel kings on 22mm have so far been a delight to use.
This is strictly personally speaking, but wouldn't go for more expensive, heavier and less flexible wheel set just for asymmetric. -

never mind all that, what are you going to call her?

@edscoble any comments or suggestions before I order rims?
@ChasnotRobert what wheels are you using, do you want to get rims as part of the same order to reduce shipping costs?
-

@dancing james, if you're ordering some lightweight rims for your Isen, I'd be interested in some 700c ones for mine.
Currently I've got a set of the Mason x HUNT 650b adventure rims setup tubeless with G-ones. I've tried them on my disc trucker, they run nicely, but not the fastest rolling thing. You might want to consider the speed version depending on which terrain you're looking to ride.

DJ, I'm thinking of kinlin rims at the moment but open to suggestions.
Looking for a decent alloy rim, sensible width, stiff enough to build up into a strong wheel set at 33/28 spoke. Tubeless ready.
Recently bought DT Swiss for the road bike which are nice but I suspect well into marginal gains for the £.
I made a fuller reply over on the tubeless thread.

Disc brakes justify carbon rims.

Good point which I'd not fully considered.

The hookless thing concerns me, probably wrongly, but it just triggers the "tyre come off it will!" part of my brain.
-
• #88
Weird thing is that the hook is a newish development. My wife had a Dutch bike with hookless steel rims. I was baffled by them but they worked and that was with inner tubes. My laymans understanding is that when there is air pressure in the tyre it is expanding in all directions so pushing the tyre bead up against the rim.

The first clincher tyres were beadless, the tyre was "clinched" between the tube and the (hookless) rim.
Only worked with relatively low pressures though, hence the development of hooked rims and tyre beads.

Hah, HG800 11-34 is what I was looking for months ago after spotting it mentioned in the Compatibility Info on Shimano's website.
6870GS Di2 mech working fine on an 11-40 though.

Seems like due to demand, it'll be quite some time before they see the shelves. Everyone wants those cassettes.

To be honest it looks like buying any shimano stuff is a fucking lottery these days.

CRC claim to have stock.

650b lol tyres will not be at anywhere near skinny road tyre pressure.
-
• #95
Starting to think I might need two wheel sets for mine.
Or will I be ok on the Sunday club ride (winter) with 650b wheels?
Oooh, the dilemmas

Scoble spent his entire adult life explaining this ..
-
• #97
So that's a no, then.
Thanks for clearing that up.

Mine is in the post from CRC
