As above, the bottled stuff is a good sample but it does taste better and is a smoother texture so not completely indicative of what you'll get on powders but decent entry into it

Huel ready to drink has been my go to for some time as breakfast substitute.
Powder's too much of a ball ache! -
• #954
Using a nutri-bullet style blender helps. Can have it ready super quickly, comes out smooth and can add ice

Got my first order of hot huel finally. Absolutely love the madras, cajun pasta is decent and the mac n cheeze is fine. Really pleased I've actually ended up enjoying them, kinda suspected I'd hate them for no reason

I have been having the hot huel for lunch for a month or so, currently alternating mac n chase cheese, Cajun and spag bol, need to try some of the others.

Every few months this thread pops up and I take another look at the hot huel..
<£3 per portion, excellent, less than a shitty tesco meal deal but then
400cals per portion, how is anyone on a cycling forum surviving on this stuff, are you all having double portions or not riding bikes?! -
• #958
I’m using my excess calories, ie my fat!

how is anyone on a cycling forum surviving on this stuff,
I'm a bit of a grazer so was definitely munching other stuff and often taking some buttered bread etc to have with the huel.

Double portions or whatever gives 100g carbs to top up 3 meals a day. Otherwise I'd just eat cheese.

Someone has given me a bunch of HOT HUEL for free that I'm trying out.
Today it's HOT HUEL Mexican edition. Texture is sort of like chia porridge, flavour is nothing but with a spicy hit at the end, so hard to really argue against, but also not really much to write home about.
Stay tuned for more reviews of HOT HUEL.

Just received some huel, the best sellers bundle with the free strawberry and cream bag. Mostly for my wife who wants a quick, easy and calorie controlled option for working in the office days.
Strawberry and cream black edition: drinkable, a bit gritty, but I gather this is typical for the black edition blends?
Mac & cheeze:
Really not that bad, pretty satiating. Better tasting than a pot noodle. -

Huel salted caramel bar is rank.

Anyone got some Huel left over from a failed experiment? Fancy trying it for lunch, don’t fancy ending up with a mostly full bag after a failed experiment.
-
• #966
I don't have any lying around, but when I wanted to try, I bought some of the bottles of ready mix, its not quite the same as the powder (its nicer) but it at least gave me an idea if I liked the flavours.

agree with Sam. Pick up a few bottles of the premade stuff from supermarket and try it out.
-
• #968
Yep. Tried a chocolate today, vanilla next.

The black edition doesn’t have a ready made bottle equivalent, and tastes a bit more challenging due to the grainy texture,
Wife really likes the chocolate and banana ready to drink / classic huel.

I've been smashing the hot shit as lunch for the past month if I'm at the workshop, cheaper and better for me than the nearby Gregg's or subway, I've not bought lunch in ages, works quite well TBH although I heap the scoops as it's a bit of a small portion otherwise.

Favourite flavas?

They're all fine with a bit of sriracha, I've had Mac and cheese, Cajun, Madras and chicken and mushroom, Cajun probably least. Mac and cheese does best if I need to make it in a thermos for later. None of them are amazing but they're plenty good enough for my needs.

Looking at getting back into Huel for low stress lunch choices.
Are they still doing referral codes? (If yes, anyone have one they want to share?)Gonna skip the hot foods and just go for the drinks.
I used to "like" the unflavoured, made with left over coffee and oat milk.Might go for the povvo spec Vanilla and see how it is (got a bottle of pre made to try today)

Yep referrals still work.

Thanks in advance (if you go for it!) -

Excellent, thanks for that.
Will likely be ordering this week.
I’d say if you’re eating x3 a day and still getting hungry you’re probably not eating enough protein and calories. Try upping the protein in your meals first.
Huel premixed is better than homemade imo but more expensive.
