This is making progress now that Bespoke has gone and I've finally decided what I want.
Have decided on hydro Di2 instead of mechanical hydro just cause it's good. I also didn't like the shape Shimano's mechanical hydro hoods.
Also decided on (probably) Hope hubs - I'd like CK but even on trade they're just too expensive. They're still £509 even after discount! Hope are less than half of that...
Now just need to decide on paint... fork will stay black.

Basically the same bike as mine except I went mechanical hydro. Wish I'd stumped up the extra for Di2!
Got the hopes on there though and don't regret it. I imagine yours will be more tasteful than mine.

What colour hopes? Grey?
Will there be matchy headset/bb?

Hydro Di2 is da bomb.

Please no metalflake.

I've been very impressed with the Hope hubs I've been using since last summer. Really easy to maintain and keep running smoothly.

• #134
You're basically building my dream Audax bike in my size :(
-
• #135
Yeah, I got hold of the cane creek on trade. A purple headset was going to be a step too far.
Also got some of those Swarf mudguards that @hoops has on the back. looking forward to seeing them in the flesh. They were an accidental pissed purchase.

If you're getting hopes, make sure you get the new centrelock ones so you can use the fancy freeza rotors:

I really like the swarf guards, mostly because they have a really nice shape, and look so much better than any other options out there. Not so fussed about the carbon aspect.
Not as expensive as I thought they would be either TBH. -

I have those rotors ^, and can attest that they are awesome. Look hot too.
-
• #139
Yeah exactly this. I bought them unseen then saw someone with them on the london classic and they looked cool. Which let's be honest is the most important thing.
Easy to fit?
Edit - sorry for derail

Yeah good shout. It'll be whichever rotors Madison supply with ma group unfortunately. So if it's the old ones then so be it. Have asked them to supply centre lock though.
With that said I have to wait for shifters to come back into stock which is 'tbc' - so that's the only thing that could potentially halt progress.

Oh but PS dynamo front is only available in black so rear hub will also be black.
-
• #143
Hope it definitely the right choice, no need for needless expensive servicing.
-
• #144
Definitely my hubs needed servicing and it was nice and pricey and very rewarding.

So much this.
Also @jb buy the Hope servicing tools - it is a simple set of drifts for getting bearings in and out and costs about 1/10 the price of the Chris King service tools and will ensure easy maintenance. They have great videos on how to maintain their equipment and when you call them for help you are likely to get the guy from the videos talk you through things on the phone. -

Centrelock black 32h Hope, hope seat clamp, hope rear skewer, Fizik R3 bars and seatpost, R1 stem, Cane Creek headset (had to order upper and lower cups from two different places...) ordered.
So now I just need to do lighting - will be fender mounted Schmidt rear light, Edelux II up front and a Schmidt delux thru axle front hub. Oh yeah and shimano need to get their shit together so that madison can sell me a groupset!
Rodeo Labs Spork. Ugly.
Matt is focusing on Bespoke so we're gonna rock'n'roll after that.
