I fear that may be a splint. Please tell me I'm wrong.

You're not wrong. Presumably it's still holding, I haven't heard otherwise...

Not sure if this is a hack or bodge exactly, but I've decided to spruce up my two cambiums by dying them. I've got a slate carved cambium that looks odd on the bike I use it on, and a normal cambium that I dimly recall being black at some time in the far far past. They're both currently in a vat of Dylon's finest, so we'll see how they turn out. I forgot to take 'before' shots, but they're these ones:

Look into ways of fixing the surface or you may regret wearing anything other than colour-matched shorts

Bodged a rear rack onto daughter's bike. Think this was originally from a 20" wheel bike.

No hole on the forks, needed a hole for the steering damper. Drilled a hole. Didn’t wanna drill through the front too. Also, used an ahead stem clamp bolt.

Do you have a bungee cord which has lost its pizzazz and joie de vivre? If so, cut it and slide off both hooks, and use a section of retired inner tube, length of your choice, to replace. Stretchy, grippy, new bungee cord which won't soak up water when it rains!
