My understanding is each state has different rule/timings so it’s a complex mess. Some states allow postage of ballot on Election Day!

The states left to declare are considered relatively ‘safe’ for Republicans and if Biden were to make big gains we would have seen them already (in Ohio for example).

I also just experienced this sequence of events

Pennsylvania, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, are still counting votes and have announced they will release no further results until morning east coast time.

"Frankly we did win this election," he claims, speaking in subdued tone. He suggests - without evidence - that election "fraud" has occurred.

"This is an embarrassment to our country," he says, adding that he plans to go to the Supreme Court to fight election results.

Millions of votes in the 2020 election are yet to be counted and the president has no credibility in claiming a victory.

His actual words were "we want all voting to stop" not even the counting of the votes.

“This is a very big moment. This is a major fraud on our nation. We want the law to be used in a proper manner. So we’ll be going to the U.S. Supreme Court. We want all voting to stop. We don’t want them to find any ballots at four o’clock in the morning and add them to the list.

Also only stop counting where he is winning

Trump contradicted himself at times, arguing votes should still be counted in Arizona, where he is trailing, but not in states where he is leading.

The only reason Trump has declared victory now and sought to delegitimise the election is because he knows he’s going to lose it.

Reminds me of my partners USA engineering colleagues, expensive degrees but swallowed all Fox news with no questions.

Biden should counter with something along the lines of “we’re ahead in the vote, we lead in the electoral college so if anyone wants the election stopped now it is us. But we won’t because we want every vote to be counted.”

No he just keeps his options open, he wins fairly doesn’t matter, he looses he says told you so.

Even before this point, it was pretty apparent that your colleagues aren't the sharpest tools in the box.

To be fair, it's only this one - the Americans in the office have all taken the day off and are watching/drinking at home, and a few of the HK colleagues have been seen looking shellshocked. None of my chinese colleagues have said anything yet.
